I see nothing “special”..
I’ll begin with I realize all three are rookies, but I see no plays that dazzle me from Snuggy, Dvorsky, or mailloux. None.
These are supposed to be our influx of talent and I’m not seeing anything that just wows me like all of the other teams.
Look at the other up and coming teams with young guns.
Ducks, sharks, canadiens, mammoth, hawks, Philly, kings, ect.
These teams are all on the rise and I just don’t see us keeping up with what we have at all. Sure some top teams will begin to plummet due to aging stars, but we haven’t had a true star for a couple decades. I agree, it may be time to sell off, let the kids play, and hope for top 3 this year.
Lose Schenn, Faulk, binner, sunny for what you can get.

Ducks, Sharks, Hawks, Coyotes/Mammoth have been bad for a while.... Have had some draft positioning due to that. Petro was a star, Tarasenko possibly from our draft.. (not counting trades)

Gotta get Carbonneau up here, he seems like a pure sniper and just let the young players play. I think everyone from management to coaches are disappointed in the performance of this team. Let them play and make some deals for our vets. You had to have players like Holloway and Neighbors have great seasons and then vets to contribute and it's just not happening.

I really like how posts like this pop up after losses. Dvo has played 18 games; Snuggy 33, and LM 21. Might want to give each guy at least 1 seasons worth of games before throwing in the towel. Or go ahead and claim they’re busts I guess. Whatever blows your hair back.

I agree with this, I'm not down on our draft picks but it just looks like this team will not gel this year. I hope I'm wrong!Backesdraft wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:51 pm I really like how posts like this pop up after losses. Dvo has played 18 games; Snuggy 33, and LM 21. All of the young guys mentioned may have good careers but none of them appear to be stars.Backesdraft wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:51 pm I really like how posts like this pop up after losses. While quality, affordable (only temporarily) depth is great still having at least one game breaking talent would be MASSIVE.
PS — it’s not JK as physical teams quickly shut him down.

Reading comprehension isn’t good for you. Yes I hope they turn out and become great. I’m not saying they are busts by any means. I’m just not seeing glimpses of hope really from any of them. I think all three will be solid players but probably nothing like the teams I mentioned.Backesdraft wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:51 pm I really like how posts like this pop up after losses. The timing is what it is. Catharsis, perhaps?
Respectfully, none of the Blues' rookies are in the discussion for any award. If a player wants to be talked about, it's up to him to produce, a full season in or not.Backesdraft wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:51 pm Might want to give each guy at least 1 seasons worth of games before throwing in the towel.
I don't believe that was the OP's suggestion.
Outside the central, who talks about the Blues' rookies? I don't see any national articles. They're just not good enough - yet - to be stars. Maybe a full season will benefit their production. Circle back in a year, as you suggested.

Not sure how to combat whatever argument this is you think you’re making.

Don't give up hope. You've seen nothing special yet. We have good rookies that will be solid NHLers. We have some studs down in Springfield. We have Carboneau and Jrisek plus a few other blue chippers. The current core of the Blues is pretty good although they aren't playing well now. Just hang around. It's going to be beautiful when it comes together.
Re: I see nothing “special”..
I *want* to believe, but these guys need to go something like 35-15-5 the rest of the season to make the playoffs.

I get what the OP is saying.
They're expecting a talent like Celebrini and our best prospects look like decent average NHL players.
St Louis is hungry for a star player to elevate this team. The hype for players is there, but the delivery is lacking.

What studs to we have down in Springfield? I watch every game.hockey jedi wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 22:19 pm Don't give up hope. You've seen nothing special yet. Re: I see nothing “special”..
Not necessarily surprising considering where those teams drafted compared to the Blues. I agree with your general point about the prospects though. I've watched Dvorsky for several seasons and I know Seattle is higher on him than I am, but I rarely saw him pop 5v5. He actually played better than I had ever seen him in his first couple games with Schenn and Buch, and it is still very early.diehardbluesfan1 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:42 pm I’ll begin with I realize all three are rookies, but I see no plays that dazzle me from Snuggy, Dvorsky, or mailloux.
