Oh I agree on that point. He’s certainly not in future plans. But it’s still a business. I believe they trade him to a pitcher heavy team valuing defense.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 09:32 am Yeah, those are fair points. I'd be fine with just keeping him as a veteran presence and gold glove defender. I just feel like we've sailed the ship in this relationship so he almost has to be moved at this point. We shall see.

Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
It might be convenient for us but the dance takes two. Possible suitors (if any exist) might want to shake out alternative options. I'm pretty sure Bloom has Nados bags packed and all it takes is a phone call that doesn't take too much cash going with him.
Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
Gray was traded on a Tuesday.
maybe big trade tomorrow, that being Tuesday.

Guessing a few teams are waiting to see where Bregman and Suarez wish to go before they jump into Arenado. As last year, I guess if Bregman does not return to Boston they could have interest in Nado. Bloom may know that already . Doesn't mean though that he has to wait for them .82birds wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 19:18 pmgood luck with thatAZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 14:00 pm It might be convenient for us but the dance takes two. yeah, the 3B market needs to sort itself out before Nado is moved. I'm not saying he won't be traded this week, I'm just agreeing with you that that's not an advantageous position we're in right now.ramfandan wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:07 pmGuessing a few teams are waiting to see where Bregman and Suarez wish to go before they jump into Arenado. Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
It was great trade at the time. The players didn't perform in the postseason in 2021 and 2022. Tough contract to move...we knew that, but we still applauded the trade in 2020.82birds wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:39 pmyupcraviduce wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:33 pmyeah, the 3B market needs to sort itself out before Nado is moved. Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
This is Deja vu folks. Nothing happens with Arenado until Bergman signs. And now, Suarez too

Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
I don't think it has to be that way. There are teams looking for a third baseman who are not trying to sign Bregman or Suarez and don't need to wait. Examples of this would be Arizona, the Angels, the Athletics, and maybe even Seattle.
Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
I suppose that is true since Arenado supposedly is increasing the number of teams. Him agreeing to go to Oakland would be wild.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 06:59 amI don't think it has to be that way. Their minor league park might inflate his offensive numbers to look very presentable. (and the Hall of Fame loves counting stats)woofy25 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 07:33 amI suppose that is true since Arenado supposedly is increasing the number of teams. Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
If Bloom does find a team where the two sides agree on the $$$ that Cardinals will cough up , my thoughts are the return will be quite limited.
Bloom is not in position to get much of value as the other team knows they have Cardinals over a barrel on this deal.
Think about it .. Is Bloom going to turn a deal down because he can't get the prospect he wishes ? I highly doubt it .

Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
The biggest issue is STILL finding a partner that Arenado will accept a trade to. He’s not going to approve a deal to a team in the same, or even worse, situation than the Cardinals. He’s not going to approve a deal just to get out of STL or just to “help” the team.ramfandan wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 17:20 pm If Bloom does find a team where the two sides agree on the $$$ that Cardinals will cough up , my thoughts are the return will be quite limited.
