This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
This is the week to trade Arenado. Get it done before the winter meetings. It will help clarify the payroll situation and allow more time at the meetings to focus on other possible transactions. I still think the Angels and Diamondbacks are the best homes for Nolan. Neither of them will be in on the free agent 3B, so could be open to an earlier deal.

It feels like something the Angels might do.

Keep an eye on the Tigers too.
Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
the new/old Angels (Nado and Trout)
Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
Depends on if AZ is ready to move forward in acquiring N/A - or if they have other priorities to address first.

Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
While I am not opposed to trading Arenado this week , my own preference would be for the Arenado deal at the start of the Winter Meetings (even the eve of the official opening day ) Why ? So the Cardinals and especially Bloom get maximum publicity.
Can imagine the MLB insider guys saying .. We all thought Chaim Bloom was going to be aggressive this offseason and he sure is ...
First, he traded Sonny Gray just prior to Thanksgiving and now at the Winter Meetings are about to get underway , he traded potential Hall of Famer 3B Nolan Arenado . Reportedly , Bloom is looking to do more at these meetings.
Be fun to see the Cardinals getting the national publicity in this offseason. I would guess the the MLB Hot Stove boys would have Bloom 'on set' interviewing him.
Regardless, that's when I would like to see the Arenado trade .. to kick off the Winter Meetings . Get maximum PR

I’ve seen the Angels mentioned a few times but I just don’t see him approving a trade there. I think it will have to be a more competitive team. Once Bergman and Suarez sign then maybe teams still needing a 3B will be more aggressive. Personally I hope Bergman goes somewhere other than Boston then Boston goes for Arenado.

I think Bregman ends up in Detroit or NY. Suarez stays in or goes to Toronto. That leaves Boston looking for a 3b. The Angles, Red Sox, and maybe Houston (again) could be interested.

The Angels might be interesting with the Rendon retirement announcement. That's a lot of money off their payroll and they seem to spend money when they have it. Maybe this frees them up to get Arenado and then get a few more pieces.IndCard75 wrote: ↑30 Nov 2025 18:31 pm I’ve seen the Angels mentioned a few times but I just don’t see him approving a trade there. What are their arrangements with Rendon? I'm sure they aren't paying him any less money- it's just re-structured in some way.C-Unit wrote: ↑30 Nov 2025 21:52 pmThe Angels might be interesting with the Rendon retirement announcement. That's a good question. All I can find is they are negotiating a "buyout."Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 08:13 amWhat are their arrangements with Rendon? I got a kick out of the Rendon interview from a few years back. He was talking about the bible. He made a point that "in the bible, it always says Jesus walked... it never says Jesus ran."
You know what... that's a great observation LOL. And coincidentally (maybe not), a very fitting parallel to Rendon's baseball career.

I wonder if he's gotten the part yet where it says, "Thou shalt not steal"?C-Unit wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 08:43 amThat's a good question. I'm not really concerned that NA won't waive his NTC to virtually anywhere at this point. He knows he is no longer wanted in St. Louis. I know that's a harsh way to put it, but that's pretty much a fact and he knows it. I'm sure he just wants a fresh start at this point and would be willing to go just about anywhere

Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
I’m gonna counter two points. One, many in the base still value his defense. In a rebuild he blocks no one- we have no real third baseman. Two, I doubt he’d go anywhere. I do agree his list has expanded greatly.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 08:57 am I'm not really concerned that NA won't waive his NTC to virtually anywhere at this point. Re: This Is The Week To Trade Arenado
Yeah, those are fair points. I'd be fine with just keeping him as a veteran presence and gold glove defender. I just feel like we've sailed the ship in this relationship so he almost has to be moved at this point. We shall see.
