I wonder if there is a statistic that measures how many wins a manager truly brings to his team
By that logic, it doesn't matter who manages the team. Why wouldn't Bloom want to start with his own people? He's apparently in the running for a Nobel Prize for what he's done with the minor league/development system. Shouldn't he want to work some magic with the big league club? Why this love affair with Marmol?

Love affair? Nobel peace prize?

Ok, you've gone off the deep end now and have just resorted to making things up. Put the feet up and crack open a cold one and relax dude. You're crashing out.

Questionable Bullpen Decisions: A frequent point of contention throughout the season was Francona's handling of the pitching staff, particularly in late-inning situations.
One notable instance involved leaving a struggling pitcher (Ian Gibaut) on the mound in the seventh inning with a four-run lead, which subsequently evaporated after the Cubs hit a grand slam.
The use of specific relievers in high-leverage situations was a common complaint, with some fans feeling he pushed the "wrong button" on who to bring in from the bullpen.

In-Game Strategy (Baserunning & Small Ball): The team was often plagued by baserunning mistakes and defensive lapses, which some critics attributed to a lack of managerial discipline or a departure from "small ball" tactics.
Francona was criticized for not utilizing bunts or encouraging more stolen bases in certain situations where a single run could have been crucial.
He even second-guessed his own late-inning decision in an August loss to the Diamondbacks.

Lineup Stability and Hitting Philosophy: The Reds' offense struggled with consistency, ranking 14th in MLB in runs per game. Some arguments pointed to Francona's adherence to certain lineups or his general offensive philosophy as contributing factors to the team's hitting woes.
LOL, what does Francona have to do with my question about Oli?
You asked the question earlier in the thread to list out what makes Oli a good manager. I asked you to list this out for any other manager and you ignored the question. So now I'm pointing out what Reds fans think of their manager and its the exact same complaints you see on this board.
TLR/Dunc rearranged their starting rotation well ahead of time so their best pitchers were lined up for important series.
TLR would rest his studs when they needed it, not plot out days off before the season started regardless of opponent or standings.
Studs are not something Oli has the use of at any position on the field with this current roster.
When Goldy and NA were going good he was giving them off days in April/MAY because he wrote it on the calendar BEFORE the season started!!!
And my debate is with lineups, strategy and in-game maneuvering not his talent.

Move on from Marmol! Enough is enough! Bring in fresh blood and a new vibe. I would rather see Molina and/or Pujols failing than another year of Marmol (sub) 500 ball. At least that would be somewhat entertaining.

Have seen a story which clains some study shows that the difference in records between 'good' managers and 'not as good ' (whatever terms you wish to use ) is 2 games to 5.7 games difference over the course of the season .. so fairly minimal.

I’d think six more wins, depending on the standings might be big. If I’m 81-81, but could have been 87-75 based on those 5.7 games, may make a difference.

The bigger take away is the confidence the players have in their manager who does win them that six extra games.

Like it or not .. agree with it or not ... it sure seems that Bloom has made his decision to stick with Marmol . Bloom has been around Oli for over a year observing him in the clubhouse and watching him closely , one would think if Bloom was not plesed with Oli there would be no floating the possibility of an extension .
Was it Goold who reported that preliminary discussions have been held regarding an extension. With the Winter Meetings upcoming , the FO focus is on the trades, free agent signings etc. . I would think once that is concluded then Bloom will turn his focus to the Oli situation.
If he does extend him , my guess is that happens in January /early February (after Winter meetings and prior to Spring Training ).

The question then becomes what would that extension look like .. the length and $$ per year. Would it be one more year added on ? Two years added ? Would there be any team option involved with a buyout ? Details like that .

From the comments on CT, there would be quite a bit of unhappiness with an extension .

According to some for these fellas 5-6 wins isn’t a big thing….only the difference in a division title and playoffs   ::crazya::
And a below avg manager can swing you the other way……so maybe 9-10 gap
