I thought Libby showed flashes of being a really good starting pitcher last year before he hit a wall. He logged 150+ innings for the first time in his professional career which was great to see from a development/endurance standpoint. I would imagine he's getting after it this offseason knowing the opportunity he has coming up in '26; this could be a really big year for him and his overall trajectory.

H e l l not to Pallante being in the SR, let alone the #3.
Bloom's going to hopefully land a young ML starter w/years of control when he deals Donovan, at least a AAA starter who's ready to make the jump to MLB in 2026.

Keep the 36 year old, on the Down trend, who can’t pitch in the summer. That would be very Mo like.

2026 was always going be a poop storm of starting pitching. They need to add more arms just to get through the season. In the bizarro universe, it's even feasible that they bring back Mikolas for a year!?!rockondlouie wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 08:48 am H e l l not to Pallante being in the SR, let alone the #3.![]()

Still more trades to make and add ML ready pitching as you say. Off season has just begun
There is a gaggle of injured pitching prospects at AAA. If some subset recover and develop by the 2nd half of 2027, there will be critical mass by 2028 adding in what's developing in the rest of the system.

Just a suggestion......might be wise to wait till at least February until you name the rotation. Historically, teams trade and sign from December till then. Just sayin'....Bully4you wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 04:54 am I saw somewhere where he's our new ace.
Mo got himself an ace in the Arozarena trade.
We just never knew it.
The rotation now features the following:
1. Liberatore
2. McGreevy
3. Pallante
4. Leahy
5. Fitts
Look on the bright side....
In 2027-2028 we might have:
1. Liberatore the ace
2. Doyle
3. Clarke
4. McGreevy
5. Matthews
GO CRAZY FOLKS!!! LOL!!!!!!!

But where would we be without the sky is falling threads at Thanksgiving! Yes folks, if it is March 1st and this is the rotation, then fire away. I will wait and see. Bloom has already started moving the needle. Let's see who else comes back in trades or is signed ..... it isn't even the winter meetings.. geezcasey1024 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 09:24 amJust a suggestion......might be wise to wait till at least February until you name the rotation. Is he going to improve all on his own or are we going to go get the best pitching coaches/mentors available at the MLB level to speed this along?mattmitchl44 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 05:16 am Doyle, Mathews, and Clarke could all well be better than Liberatore by 2028 or 2029.
And Liberatore could be better as well.
So far his progess has moved in the right direction but at a snails pace under the organizational status quo.

Good point. Most of us except the Pollyannas are going to need to see (show me state) a consistent pattern of actions that succeed from Bloom at the MLB level and not just nice talk. Until it comes together, many will remain skeptical and not buy tickets.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑26 Nov 2025 09:36 amIt was when Mo was here! Let the skyfall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall.
