Has Tiger Football reached it's ceiling?

The program I feel is on the verge of breaking through. The games lost were all winnable. What the program lacks right now is an elite QB and an OC who in not overmatched. Next year if the defense plays the way they have played this season and if Drink (If he stays) can fix those 2 items I don't see why the team can't be a legit playoff contender.

Yes. By no means is it an easy schedule which is why they have to address those issues.

Plus they lose a ton on D next year.

Few schools can compete with Texas when it comes to spending money, when they want a QB they drop a $7 Million NIL deal and buy a Manning.

When Mizzou wants a QB, they give the backup QB at Penn State $1.5 Million.

As coach said earlier this week candidly it comes down to money.

When MU joined the conference over a decade ago the buzz was upgrading facilities in an effort to compete with the traditional SEC powers.

As far we know that has been done or the process is in the works. University support has been terrific.

Apparently though now that's not enough as NIL is now a reality making the TP a 24/7 carousel and players move at warp speed to the highest bidder.

The ceiling is just going to get higher.

Let’s take a look at why James Madison, North Texas, and Vanderbilt are ranked higher than Mizzou this week. Can we at least be as good as these teams? Texas, really! Drink is below James Madison, after x years and paid as a top 10 coach. Compare budgets from those and maybe add GT, not sure if it is all about money invested in the program.

I don't know about those other schools but Vandy is having a once in a century year for them. And we almost beat them in Nashville.

The Tigers have QB problems. They lost Horn and their place kicker in the first game of the season.

drink has been outstanding as CEO once he fired himself as a bumbling OC, which is weird since he was supposed to be offensive guru and his selling of the program has changed everything about MU FB. BUT is he capable of making adjustments during year to his coordinators and during games? So far it is a huge NO and that's the money part of being a HC.

When facing a Big brand and this year he has brought program up to the point of being very competitive but lets a HS level OC ruin his season which has destroyed ALL his credit with the fanbase. Why put so much time and loyalty to a dude who seemingly content with a huge contract but refuses to do the obvious thing?

Personally I couldn't be more disappointed in him and I and many many tiger fans feel the same way and he will now find himself with a lot more criticism at events and by the media.

Tigers are back to being a CBB school with the way Gates has brought in top recruiting class in history of program. Go Tigers BB and drink you can go suck eggs! Go ahead go to FL they will run you out of town on a rail in three years!
