BTW: If anyone is foolish enough, I'm taking bets on Tigers/Sooners.
I'd say the Tigers have about one chance in ten of winning that game, not because the Tigers aren't trying or Coach Drink isn't a good coach, but simply because the Sooners have better players or more top-notch players.
Players win games. You can complaint all day about the coaches, but you could have the best Head Coach in the world, with the best OC and DC, but if OU has better players they're still more likely to win. It might be different if I were coaching the sooners, but they've got much better coaches than me. And even second best coaches are more likely to win with better players.
OU has us at QB at the moment.
Besides that, what position group are they heads and shoulders better? Maybe defensive secondary and Oline. And I’d take our RB’s all day long.

I agree that we're closer than we used to be. But we're still not physically a match for the very top teams. You can see this with the recruiting rankings where Texas and Bama and OU are always ahead of us. And you can also see it in the NFL were there's all these starters from Alabama and Texas and OSU, and only a few players from MU.
Look at these names: Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones, and Bryce Young.
That's a list of Alabama QBs currently starting in the NFL.
Here's the list of Missouri QBs who are starters in the NFL: ... ... ... (crickets)
With teams now openly paying players, we have to get our revenue close to their level if we want to get the very best players and get over the hump.

The program is essentially somewhere in that middle pack of 7th-10th in the SEC. I don't expect that to change. They can have some short term success for a season or two but to vault any higher they'd have to show they can notch 9+ win seasons year over year for probably 6-7 seasons. That means beating one of the higher ranked programs every single year. They haven't shown the consistent ability to do that as a program.
The money comes first. If coach Drink had Texas money, we'd be a NT contender in two seasons at most.
Or, if 2008 Pinkel had Drink's NIL money and the portal, perhaps the Tigers would have been a NT contender this year or last. I'm not convinced Drinkwitz is a great game day coach yet. Undisciplined play, uninspired play calling and the general suckage of STs tell me that.

I'll take Mizzou at 10-1 to win the game. Send me a PM if you want to do Venmo or Pay Pal
Better yet, are you on Kalshi? I will put out an offer at that price, and you can accept it.
Also, how much exposure are you looking for?
Because here at Draft Kings there are several "people around the sport who believe," If "anyone is foolish enough" to offer odds 5x higher than they're offering anywhere, then it's something you really have to consider.

I believe that a ten win season is their ceiling. Is it possible to get more, yes but everything would have to align almost perfectly. This years team is a good example. Excellent running backs and defensive line but everything else is meh. I really thought that the receivers would be a strength but the lack of a good passing QB and a mediocre offensive line has not helped. They have beaten everyone they should have beaten so far but could not get over the hump in the two games they could have won. It will never get easier in the sec!
Texas is not playing well this year. Turns out that they their most highly esteemed QB is under performing.
Mateer is not that great either.
Money can buy happiness? There are plenty of schools that keep firing their coaches on a whim and throwing ever more money at "named" coaches. LSU and Florida to name a couple.
And yes Mizzou is a very average team this year. That does suck. Pribula is not very good. Not sure about Zollers either.

Pinkel was an awful game day coach - he was great at prep but couldn't adjust to save his life
MU is not the poorest kid at the Trough. Remember just because you have the highest payroll guarantees nothing. The Dodgers were a home run away from being knocked out. The Tigres' are somewhere in the middle to upper middle. Which means in any given year they can compete with the Powerhouses . Were Talking about HUMANS and all the Frailty that goes with them. Anything is possible.
The program I feel is on the verge of breaking through. The games lost were all winnable. What the program lacks right now is an elite QB and an OC who in not overmatched. Next year if the defense plays the way they have played this season and if Drink (If he stays) can fix those 2 items I don't see why the team can't be a legit playoff contender.

But he was fun to party with. Met him at Coconuts on LOZ years back. I don't see that in Drink (he just has the name)

have you seen next year's schedule ?
Yes. By no means is it an easy schedule which is why they have to address those issues.
