Re: Practice lines today
His lines are junk.
We have a Coaching problem.
His mannerisms, his manic, his dynamic emotions, all points to a staircase of twelve that only gets walked up after the bottom is reached.
Put like minded players together the best you can.
Then let them play the game they know.

no, you cannot have that 1st line, Thomas and kyrou are a defensive liability we seen to much of that in the past. Top teams top line smoke them every timeCahokanut wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 16:22 pm His lines are junk.

Ahhh, so nice to have the youthful recovery time and access to world class therapists. We need this man badly right now.BluesDom wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 12:47 pm Neighbours (leg) participated in Monday's practice and appears to be nearing a return to the lineup, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Neighbours will accompany the Blues on the team's upcoming five-game road trip and will likely return at some point during that stretch. However, he will miss his 12th straight game against Toronto on Tuesday, according to Korac. The 23-year-old Neighbours has six goals, one assist, 12 shots on net and 20 hits through eight appearances this season.

Probably a bad sign if you are leading the team in goals, miss a few weeks, and come back to find yourself still leading the team in goals.
That said, we need the guy back desperately.

Re: Practice lines today
My thoughts exactly. Kessel is not the answer. I’d take Rosen over him every game. I thought Skinner looked good in his first game. As bad as the D has looked could it be any worse with Skinner playing? I’m rooting for the guy he has worked his (donkey) off to get to the NHL. Perhaps it’s time for someone like Steen to speak with Monty about this.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 11:30 am I thought Skinner played really well Friday night. But then he sits Saturday (fine.....a rotation between the bottom three guys) and now is an extra at today's practice. I want to see him in the lineup on a regular basis at this point unless he proves he can't do it. We pretty much know what we have in Kessel and Tucker and they aren't the answer.

Siiiiick. Really hoping this comes together so they can scratch and claw for a final playoff spot.BluesDom wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 12:47 pm Neighbours (leg) participated in Monday's practice and appears to be nearing a return to the lineup, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

I’m hoping for the tank at this point. Might as well draft as high as we can. Move out some vets at the deadline and call it a year.

Hey there Airedale, every team has a $95 (95.5) million dollar salary cap.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 14:37 pm This was an odd move for this franchise whos always been quick to add a veteran on D if they needed it. Could it be the Blues have an imposed $95 million cap?

Re: Practice lines today
Think we just need to waive Texier when Neighbours is ready. If we can't find a spot for him in the lineup with Neighbours out and decided Dvorsky was the better move, then why are we even keeping him?
I'm also kinda ready for a return to basics in most cases.
Until Neighbours comes back
Holloway - Thomas - Kyrou. Risk the defense a bit at this point just to get some production going here.
Buch - Suter - Snuggy. Worker in the middle, distributor on one wing, shooter on the other.
Schenn - Dvorsky - Joseph. Joseph can motor and Dvorsky can find him. Gets better when Neighbours gets back and you can move Holloway down here.
The rotation of Bjugstad/Sunny/Walker/Toropchenko. Rotate guys to keep them all fresh. When Neighbours comes back you have 1 too many forwards until an injury happens to rotate properly.
Defensively, go back to Fowler and Parayko, it worked well, but we tried to do some fancy stuff moving around veterans to play with younger guys and honestly both have played worse. Go back to Broberg and Faulk, and then rotate the 3 3rd pair guys until one setup works best. What is killing them right now imo is the fact that we can't trust a 3rd pairing to play 16-17 minutes right now. I didn't think i'd say this, but we miss Suter's 17-18 minutes of trust on that 3rd pairing so that the top 4 aren't playing 24-25, maybe he'd consider it.

Suter played close to 20 last year. He played a lot of to pairing at times as wellJoshInFenton wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 20:34 pm I didn't think i'd say this, but we miss Suter's 17-18 minutes of trust on that 3rd pairing so that the top 4 aren't playing 24-25, maybe he'd consider it.
Re: Practice lines today
I'm snickering at how the usual nags are ripping lines and their solution is NEIGHBOURS! You can't make this stuff up.
Re: Practice lines today
I just don't agree. What makes him a defensive liability is not giving him or letting him do, what's needed to be offensive.ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑17 Nov 2025 16:32 pmno, you cannot have that 1st line, Thomas and kyrou are a defensive liability we seen to much of that in the past.
