I’d like to see Neighbors Dvorsky and Snuggs
Remember when we could just trust the line combos that Berube ran with??

It’s getting pretty old.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:32 amFair point. I point at the system because we change coaches but the 5 on 5 has looked the same for 15-20 years. Cycle it kick it to the point and hope it goes in off if someone’s (bleep). No creativity. It’d be nice for a forward to score goal off the rush for a change.dtkblueshockey wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:22 amI think there's a lot of reasons why specific guys aren't scoring goals. I think it varies from player to player and I don't think it's a systems or coaching issue.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 08:33 amWith the exception of Holloway potting a couple the last 2 games, none of your skill players are scoring. Is that too much focus on defense from the forwards? Or a systemic issue with the philosophy.dtkblueshockey wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 08:28 am Buch has been on the wrong line / in the lineup when he shouldn't be.
Sure, he can play decent defensively but he's a black hole offensively and it's obviously a mental issue at this point.
He needs to sit for a game or 2 to get refocused.
It's worked so far for pretty much every player except Mailloux (but we know why it didn't for him).
The Blues need their top billed players to score goals and carry the load offensively. I would change the topic of this to Buch instead of Snuggs. I think Snuggerud should be put in positions to succeed as others would have argued that Bolduc should have stayed there etc.
He should be played with Thomas so he is given every chance to succeed in my opinion.
If anything the coaches lately have been pushing the right buttons and the analytics for the most part have been there, the puck just isn't going in. I think to me that ultimately comes down to individual player execution....which is why I mentioned Buchnevich specifically.
I think there's also something to be said about the opposition playing generally better than the Blues as well as the psychological aspect of the Blues defeating themselves when they are playing from behind - which has been most games.
Nobody can even throw a body check anymore. Makes it pretty hard to play gritty hockey when you can’t be physical.
I can’t recall noticing a set play other than everyone against the wall with their backs to the net hoping to throw one towards the goal in desperation.
Re: Snuggs is on the wrong line
I'd set Buchnevich aside from the other under performers because he has the same kind of hang over he had last year imo whereas the others have somehow managed to recently have their own.
The team has recently improved from their earlier malaise but while it's progress it needs to continue until they can maintain a 60 minute game which calls for all kinds of good hockey to happen on the ice. The team needs 1000% hustle and connectivity between all of them to set the ship right. There's progress, but it must continue. So much of this is basic.
Goal tending remains at the top of the list for any chance at recovery.
As for Buch maybe he does come around too. I don't know what's going on there with him.

Re: Snuggs is on the wrong line
Wouldn't mind seeing if the two young guys can get Buch going. He doesn't appear to want to shoot so give him two shooters to set up.

Problem with Buch is he’s a decent passer on a breakaway but not at even strength. He passes mostly to legs and skates. Snuggs deserves better.

Hustle, hard work and tenacity creates puck luck...not whimpering, floating and looking to the rafters.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025 09:16 amthomas got robbed last night on a roofer, and buch had one blocked from the dirty area as well.. puck luck will change
