Coaches at almost every other SEC school get fired for putting up seasons like Drink has at Mizzou.
At some point you have to win a big game or it's time to move on.
The timing of this comment is wild considering they were playing the third string, freshman QB. What alternative reality are people living in that makes them think they should have won the game?
It's not the timing of the comment that's wild
It's the comment itself. There's no evidence of it
Problem is what I IDED last season and this. Kirby was ok against the weak sisters but when up against other REAL SEC coordinators he has been a total fail. I think drink has done yeoman job at second tier program like MU in getting stuff done EXCEPT Not FIRING an incompetent OC who couldn't develop a QB if his life depended on it. Beau regressed as season went on which made no sense and he failed every game to do go routes with speedy and the great freshman.
IF Eli is ever going to do anything at MU he HAS TO FIRE Kirby immediately and restart Offense getting his stink and failure away from younger guys. IF he doesn't? then there is no chance that MU will attain what we really want. Beating big brands regularly and getting respect for the MU brand.
Drinkwitz risks losing Olugbode and other WRs to the portal postseason. When you have QBs and an OC who can't get them the ball... And I wouldn't be shocked if Hardy transferred as well. His carries have markedly declined.
This passing offense is terrible. Fewer than 30 points in all 5 SEC games. And fewer than 20 in 3 of them in regulation.
10 points against Vandy, and 3 points in 2+ quarters with Pribula still in there. Auburn, yeah, Auburn, hung 38 on those clowns. Talk about boring football. That's the game that really stings. The D was superb in that game bottling up Pavia.

If you are a believer that numbers don’t lie, knowing coming into the game that true freshmen QB’s making their 1st start were 0-17 in the last 20 years, I don’t see how anyone would have expected a win. I’m disappointed by how bad we looked. But wasn’t surprised we lost at all.
I do think the coaching staff is failing in coaching our passing game and they need to get it together. It’s a shame because we have tremendous talent at the skill positions (including our freshman QB) and we CAN run block very well.
Regarding the idea almost every other SEC school would have fired Drink by now, that’s ridiculous. MAYBE LSU because they’ve shown what they’ll do. Drink’s record is 27-8 the past 3 years. That won’t get you fired at most schools.

The run blocking has not been that great, either. Most of the yards gained by Hardy and Roberts are after contact. The OLine just isn't very good.

I'm down with that.
i take no pleasure in it but the big games this year have been some of the worst play calling I have seen.
I hope Drink can convince Olug to stick around. I bet I know his vote on Kirby.
