interviews
Drink's post game interview "Sorry guys I spent all week preparing for my job interviews". Saw a lot of comments about our quarterback, I do not think Beau would have done any better, they poured thru our offensive line like water thru a funnel. Would love to be the offensive co-ordinator for a team playing Mizzou, "lets try a few new running plays and experiment with our offense, we can pass for 1st down any time we want to

Re: interviews
Coaches at almost every other SEC school get fired for putting up seasons like Drink has at Mizzou.
At some point you have to win a big game or it's time to move on.

Re: interviews
Was Drink asking Elko for a job after the game? Drink had a bear hug on Elko and Elko acted shocked by whatever it was Drink said.abnerdoubled wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 19:12 pm Drink's post game interview "Sorry guys I spent all week preparing for my job interviews". Re: interviews
Why? So we can completely reset the entire [censored] program again, go 5-7 if we're lucky for 5 years. We are never going to be more than an occasional dominant season that ends with us ranked like 6th. Just deal with it
Re: interviews
This isn’t like 25 years ago where programs hire new and it is a 3-5 year reset. The reset period is in months with most teams turning over half of their roster every year. If an elite coach shows up, elite players are there in 6 months ready to play.MizTruBlueLuvzU wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 19:18 pm Why? As far as the dormant statement, that is what Duke used to say before hiring Coach K. That is what Clemson used to say before hiring Dabo. Nebraska went from a perennial powerhouse to nobody. The reality is most programs people see as great now other than a handful of team were not great 30 years ago and vise versa. If the fan bases never sees themselves as winner they never will be. Our expectation should be SEC championships and the CFP or the season is deemed a failure.

Re: interviews
Too many Tiger fans are fine with going to a shi**y bowl game, or making the BB tournament and losing to the Drakes of the world in round one. You should never criticize anything Mizzou, being mediocre is good enough. When you fan base is fine with mediocrity that's what you'll always be.rezero wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 19:30 pmThis isn’t like 25 years ago where programs hire new and it is a 3-5 year reset. Re: interviews
Is this Year 4 or Year 5 of Drink going 5-7? Why do people think a coaching change means the program has to bottom out, especially in these days of the transfer portal and NIL? If Drink leaves for Florida, LSU, PSU, or even Arkansas, do you really see this program falling apart? Now, I’m not advocating firing Drink. While it is true, SOME SEC schools would fire Drink, they are a lot that wouldn’t, and most of those that would, haven’t improved their standing.MizTruBlueLuvzU wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 19:18 pm Why? The timing of this comment is wild considering they were playing the third string, freshman QB. What alternative reality are people living in that makes them think they should have won the game?cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 19:15 pm Coaches at almost every other SEC school get fired for putting up seasons like Drink has at Mizzou.

3 big games this season. 3 losses. Pribula played in 2 of the losses and wasn’t good.woofy25 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 05:37 amThe timing of this comment is wild considering they were playing the third string, freshman QB. And today's headline read on blocking-We need to help him more. Boy is that the understatement of the year.

Re: interviews
That’s why you don’t recruit running QBs. That’s why you don’t design QB run plays where your QB gets hit a lot. Because when you do that, they get injured. And why have many QB run plays in a season where you have 2 elite backs? Drink is in a self fulfilling prophecy. He can’t get pro style QBs bc he runs the QB. Now they are getting hurt and what pro style QB will want to play for him. He’s got the reputation that he can’t develop QBs. It is what it is and it sucks. Whether it’s Drink not allowing Kirby to call his plays, or Kirby just sucking it up, it ain’t gonna work in the future. It’s at least 2 years now that offense has been a huge letdown.woofy25 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 05:37 amThe timing of this comment is wild considering they were playing the third string, freshman QB. Re: interviews
Right. It's definitely not all about the QB in this situation. Early in the year I keep hearing how great the O-Line was. They were good enough against the creampuffs on the schedule. But against top competition, they have been awful during passing plays in particular. I don't care if the QB was Peyton Manning. He would have done terrible too. The other team's D is usually in the the backfield almost when the ball is snapped. Either the front line personnel is mediocre, or the coaching is mediocre...or both.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025 07:03 am3 big games this season. 3 losses. Re: interviews
And the old saw on fans at fault is just another excuse itself. You think Drink has low expectations? Mediocre is good enough? You think fans care more than him?Lightning Rod wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 21:42 pmToo many Tiger fans are fine with going to a shi**y bowl game, or making the BB tournament and losing to the Drakes of the world in round one. Did Indiana fans have a revolt to fix their dismal program?
I don't doubt the importance of a HC and ALL the programs he's accountable for for one millisecond.
Complaining fans? That's as old as the hills.

You can't name five coaches at five different SEC schools who were fired the season after having back to back, double-digit win seasons.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 19:15 pm Coaches at almost every other SEC school get fired for putting up seasons like Drink has at Mizzou.

The offensive line hasn't even been that great against cream puffs. They allowed 4 sacks to UMass.Kenny Boy wrote: ↑11 Nov 2025 08:02 amRight. It's definitely not all about the QB in this situation. Re: interviews
In 5 conference games MU has thrown for 5 TDs and 5 Ints and less than 900 yards.
That TD to INT ratio is abysmal.
The running game has been good but in a pass dominated game you have to have better balance.
Driving the length of the field primarily running the ball against conference teams without penalties or missed blocking assignments or a great defensive play don't happen very often.
You have to have the ability for explosive plays, chunk plays in the passing game.
This offense doesn't have that and until that happens you're not going to beat the top teams everyone is talking about.
