I'm not seeing a lot of evidence of that surplus we supposedly traded from to get a RD. If Tex and Torp coming in are evidence of our forward depth, then it's pretty much non-existent.

The "depth" is Dvorsky, Stenberg, and Carbonneau... projected Top 9 forwards who are on the horizon at various stages of development in the next couple of seasons. Pretty much no team has a magical surplus of Top 6 NHL forwards just sitting around waiting to play.
