Well there could be a few things he may need to work on.
And I hope they let him.
It's not this kids fault Army thought he was nhl ready and a fair value equal swap for Bolduc.

Points are expected and that's been made clear to him. But Until Mailx gets it. They need him to play a stay at home style if game. Draw a box and Tell him to stay there, or near about. Enough point pressure, learn some defense or it's that much worse.

Some of this +/- stuff this year falls squarely on Hofer's head. When your goaltender is a sieve, it's hard to be + or have + attitude.

He may turn out to be garbage in the long run but we have to stop acting like he’s not totally green at this level. The NHL is significantly harder than any league he has played in this far.

Bolduc had some awful games last year, but mistakes by wingers are usually less consequential than defensemen.

Heah if you're assuming I'm criticizing the trade I'm not.

My point had to do with getting this advice from the get go with his new team.

I know all about how defensemen have to mature through fire.

I hover more in the boards than post but over the years I have seen comments from people here that obviously know more about hockey than I will ever know. When it comes to young defense men the same comment comes up every single time, "Takes longer to develop as a dman". Saw those comments when the Blues drafted Johson, Petro and Payrayko. The kid is 22 years old.

I said when Mailloux went to the bench that he'd be getting some "extra visitors" to unofficially go over things with.
At the time, I thought maybe Bouwmeester or Pronger would play that role.
Turns out it's Bobby Bortuzzo playing the "unofficial coach" role.
As somebody who had to do a LOT of work to become a full-time player, Bort's definitely not a bad voice to put in the kids ear.

Really curious if this is an inclination that Bortuzzo might be interested in eventually going the coaching route like Chris Thorburn did.

By my count, at least 6 of his -9 plus/minus are from the two games that Hofer (bleep) the bed. So our dear troll can whip up the frenzy, but I see a guy that is big, fast, great skater and has a big shot. Maybe he develops into a very good defenseman, maybe not, but I don’t see some garbage slug out there like Jordan Scmaltz. Still not sure what the Blues ever saw in that guy!
