Rest here: https://x.com/jprutherford/status/1981397152535355617Mailloux, who's back in the lineup tonight, has spent the past couple of games watching from the pressbox.
He had in-game conversations with Al MacInnis and Robert Bortuzzo, and he also got a phone call from Chris Pronger.
I spoke to Mailloux about this and here's what he said:
Mailloux: Learning from Alumni
Moderators: STLtoday Forum Moderators, Blues Talk Moderators
Mailloux: Learning from Alumni
Interesting thread from JR. Looks like Mailloux is getting some help from some good resources.

Glad to see that…..I was hoping that was the case. Pronger, in particular, is a good resource for him. Mailloux needs a little bit of success to give him some confidence and he should be fine. Hopefully tonight is that start of that.

Definitely enough resources around the organization to help...

So much for those saying that kind of stuff doesn't happen.
I'm sure he appreciates advice and caring from guys like that.

Re: Mailloux: Learning from Alumni
I said when Mailloux went to the bench that he'd be getting some "extra visitors" to unofficially go over things with.
At the time, I thought maybe Bouwmeester or Pronger would play that role.
Turns out it's Bobby Bortuzzo playing the "unofficial coach" role.
As somebody who had to do a LOT of work to become a full-time player, Bort's definitely not a bad voice to put in the kids ear.
Really curious if this is an inclination that Bortuzzo might be interested in eventually going the coaching route like Chris Thorburn did.

At this point, it’s not the off ice support that’s important. It’s the on ice performance.

Re: Mailloux: Learning from Alumni
Overall, I am lowering my expectations a bit for this season with this defense.
3 of our 7 have played less then 100 games. Broberg has 155. That is a lot of youth/growth yet to come.
We’ve heard many players and coaches say most defensemen need 300 games to become who they are.
As long as they are competitive and improving, I can handle the trend.

People seem to forget this was a very controversial pick (most controversial of that draft)…and not just because of the personal controversy.
He’s been thought of by many as a 10 cent head guy for a long time.

ummmm....I can't take it.
The first clown post isn't just dissing LM....it's dissing MacInniss and Pronger and Bortz who thought well enough of the kid and cared well enough for the kid to speak with him and offer advice that the clown deems unimportant.
No mentors allowed. No, the clown knows better than to intercede with any advice. The kid swims or drowns on his own. Don't look up to any body.
Now this one...leveled right at him...calling him worth a dime.
He's here as a banned poster...and folks....this is precisely why he's here. He gets a charge out of this and pretends to be a blues fan and some hockey guru while he berates them at every turn.
Banned....and he's here. Who does this? Who crawls back to do this?

What a strange comment. Clearly the off ice support is intended to help the on ice performance.

Until he's banned again the only answer is the Foe button and then never look at a thread he starts. Be nice if everyone would do that. Some try to engage him, but why? He or his aliases don't post in good faith. At the end of the day I suspect he's just laughing at the Mods for letting this happen.dhsux wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 18:09 pm ummmm....I can't take it.

It’s to deflect pressure. The Habs were nice and positive to him too. That pick was talked about a ton. Pronger goes public with emotion so people talk about Pronger. They aren’t dummies. The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 18:30 pmWhat a strange comment. Clearly the off ice support is intended to help the on ice performance.
Re: Mailloux: Learning from Alumni
That's what I did. All he does is complain or comment how bad a blues player, coach, office, etc. is or was. He likes to antagonize and quite frankly, I just don't have time for that.steve li wrote: ↑23 Oct 2025 18:31 pmUntil he's banned again the only answer is the Foe button and then never look at a thread he starts.
