Kessel is getting a little better, more confident and more attitude.

Kessel isn't the answer.

He's good in small doses but he is very much a player once he gets 5 or 6 in a row he gets exposed and the results quickly go downhill.

Maybe that changes so we'll see.
I mean players lights can turn on and become good players… not saying Kess is as of right now… I was impressed how he played and the defense overall against a strong offensive team
Yes, I won't deny that has happened to some players, but at least to this point Kessel has shown he is a good fill in for a few games but when he reaches that 4-5 game mark or starts hitting that 14-15 minute a game mark he starts being exposed and it was quite frankly ugly last year.

There isn't anything wrong with that if that ends up being all he is, as every team needs one of those.

Guess we shall see.

well he certainly didn't show much in the preseason. Here's to him showing way more in the regular season.

I thought he looked pretty good in the preseason. Agreed, and the team winning with him in is good for him.

I thought Kessel was decent tonight. He's no Parayko but he seems serviceable at the 6/7 spot. Im surprised they gave up Bolduc just to replace Kessel. You'd think LM would have that locked up but nope here we are talking about Kessel.

Kyrou's goal is a goal he was not capable of previously and that's because it started with a tremendous heads up defensive play that he was looking to make first, We have a different player in the same uniform. A better one.

Snuggerud knows he has his shot in his back pocket and the chances for him to fire them will come. But the fact that in the meantime he accepts that there's little time and space to get the same quality of shots off and is working at being such a wall battler and net front battler is a sign of the right kind of development.

We clearly traded from strength and we remain strong on the wing with Carbonneau developing.

They didn't give up Bolduc to replace Kessel, per se. They gave up Bolduc for a player they viewed as having long-term top-4 potential. Rightly or wrongly, time will tell, Mailloux projects to have a much higher ceiling.

I agree. Have to take a long term approach when it comes to most trades involving the youngsters. (other than some of the trade deadline deals.)

100% agree with both points. Was very impressed with the defensive play by Kyrou that set up the goal. Showed maturity and hopefully showed him great things can come from defensive responsibility.
