+1. I didn't understand the need to move him when they could have moved a depth forward to make the cap work.

Well, maybe we can get him back now.Frank Barone wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:15 pm+1. I didn't understand the need to move him when they could have moved a depth forward to make the cap work.
With Krug on LTIR now, we’d be able to go over the cap plenty if we wanted to.

Respect you posters, but Leddy's cap hit is $4 million. Which depth forward is the same? Am I missing something?Frank Barone wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:15 pm+1. I didn't understand the need to move him when they could have moved a depth forward to make the cap work.

Montreal does not need validation. They are doing just fine. Mailloux is already a distant memory.bluetunehead wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:18 pmTwo-thirds of this board already hasBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 14:53 pm Montreal is going to take this news as validation of the trade.....at least the dumb ones will.

And not like he’s been around a ton over the years. That said, has he even been on a FanDual broadcast yet? I saw where he was on Hockey Night in Canada the other night so I guess the FanDual thing isn’t every game. But either way, not like he’s just in the pressbox ready to give advice to whatever d-man is scratched that night.

It's really not that far fetched. San Jose doesn't necessarily need him and didn't seem like there were any hard feelings when San Jose plucked him off waivers.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:35 pmWell, maybe we can get him back now.Frank Barone wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:15 pm+1. I was looking at teams and their d-corps and even this early in the season there just isn't that much out there even on the left side.

We didn't need to move him, period.blues2112 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:41 pmRespect you posters, but Leddy's cap hit is $4 million. Which depth forward is the same? We've still got 650K in cap space with neither of Krug or Dean officially on LTIR.
If we had wanted to keep Leddy, we could have. Easily. We could still bring in a vet Dman with a faiirly hefty cap hit any time we want to just by LTIR'ing Krug. We're simply chosing not to do so(there are long term Cap benefits for not putting him on).

Good lines.
Balanced lineup.
Need to get Buch and Kyrou going on the scoresheet.

I'd take Suter back in a heartbeat if he wanted to keep playing. We need a stabilizing vet for the 3rd pair.blues2112 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 20:13 pmTruly, appreciate your insight.kimzey59 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 20:00 pmWe didn't need to move him, period.blues2112 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:41 pmRespect you posters, but Leddy's cap hit is $4 million. Yah, played 82 games last year. Curious if it's possible.kimzey59 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 20:26 pmI'd take Suter back in a heartbeat if he wanted to keep playing. Fwiw I think pronger mentioned on his interview on the fast lane yesterday the Dallas game would be his first blues broadcast. So wouldn't surprise me if he is in mailloux ear tomorrow. Wish the kid ALL the best think the pr comparison to the pronger trade was dumb at best.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 12:16 pmI’ve seen comments like this for years and I don’t get it. In all the years MacInnis has been employed by the Blues, I’ve heard of zero times of him working with a player directly. I’m not even sure he works for the Blues fulltime. He’s an advisor to Army. Likely just someone Army gets an opinion from from time to time.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 11:35 amA game or two from the high seats for Logan with Chopper and likely Prongs will do the young fella some good.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 11:16 amNeighbours to the right side, Buch down to line 2, Snuggy up to line 2, Kyrou down to line 3. Unsurprisingly, Kessel being given a chance. Probably likely to slot in for Mailloux for the next game.
We are moving Kyrou to the 3rd line? Not sure how I feel about that one.
Kessel and Tucker will also very likely be a disaster.

I agree...Kyrou on the 3rd line is a very questionable move but it might open up the ice some for him.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 11:35 amA game or two from the high seats for Logan with Chopper and likely Prongs will do the young fella some good.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 11:16 amNeighbours to the right side, Buch down to line 2, Snuggy up to line 2, Kyrou down to line 3. More likely this will be very temporary.
