Always hated Suter
It’s clear the Blues miss him though…even at 40 he could move up and down the pairings and really helped to stabilize things. Plus the experience

How would you have paid 5-6 million for Bolduc at the end of the season? On this team, he was a third line wing.Inglewood Jack wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 14:24 pmI did not like the trade either at the time nor present. I hope that he is a fast learner and the system is one where he can excel.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 13:30 pmCan you point out the specific improvements you've seen and any particular moment in any game you have seen them? I have nothing against him at all but to say he is improving or has, frankly, shown anything at all is tough for me to comprehend. He isn't ready. It's not his fault the Blues are not putting him in a position to succeed because they are trying to save face on a [shirt]ty trade.Nublues69 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 12:51 pmHe has made improvements. He is 22 years old and has played 11 maybee 12 games. Pronger was horrible when he first cam then he slowly turned into pronger. Give the kid A break and give him half a season to figure it out.
You can’t pay everybody. Pronger said this week that you never really know how good a defenseman can be until they’ve played 200 NHL games. Pronger was brutal when he first was in the league. Buium has struggled so far this year as well. Defenseman take time.

Calling him 3rd line wing doesn’t define much for what you get.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 16:38 pm How would you have paid 5-6 million for Bolduc at the end of the season? On this team, he was a third line wing.
He may very well be a top 6 player. He’s young. Even if he doesn’t, he will be a guy like Barbashev who can slide up to a top line with an Eichel or Suzuki if need be.
At present he’s 3rd line on a very skilled team and he’s getting solid PP time. They use him as bumper or down low for dirty work as he has great hands. He may develop a world class shot as it is very good right now.
He’s hard to play against and is hard on his stick. He speaks dirty French and English to you and annoys you. He’s very Perron like to me.
For assessment it’s good to look at the totality of players. Guys play roles. It’s not just about talent and numbers.

He could be all of those things, or he could be a 15-20 goal 20 assist guy and there isn't anything wrong with that but in today's NHL with a rising salary cap it's going to get expensive and the Blues had a different need and better players to fill that position.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 18:17 pmGood post and analysis.theograce wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 17:48 pmCalling him 3rd line wing doesn’t define much for what you get.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 16:38 pm How would you have paid 5-6 million for Bolduc at the end of the season? For those who say that Buium is struggling too.
Could have fooled me.
It is ONLY ARMY PROSPECTS that need more time in the OHL/AHL. Other draftees on other teams at same age are excelling in the NHL.

But the No. 1 takeaway from this game is that 19-year-old rookie defenseman Zeev Buium already looks like a player with a chance to raise the Wild's ceiling for years to come.

Re: Look at what NHLers are saying about Bolduc and Mailloux
I may be completely wrong in this but I don’t think anyone will dispute that what we have seen so far is far from satisfactory but the same could have been said for Pronger when he first came into the NHL. Defensemen sometimes take time and patience, its my hope that this is what will be required here. Anyway lets give Logan at least a season to show us what he really has.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 11:09 am Is it spam if it contains the essential truth?

Don’t hate on me. I’m just the messenger.
Blame Army.
Re: Look at what NHLers are saying about Bolduc and Mailloux
Just wondering what Bolduc’s stat line looked like after HIS first 10 games? Did he even break camp with the team last year?
Re: Look at what NHLers are saying about Bolduc and Mailloux
I wonder if this guy is Mike Yeo or Drew Bannister?
