It’s not that I have anything against the Grateful Dead, but I just don’t see why they insist on having their own night and shoving it down our throats.

It’s about sports, not music. Keep music out of sports.

I thought I’d get ahead of this considering folks lose their minds over other special nights, yet no one has said a word about this one. Surely, that is coming.

Personally, I’m proud of being a non-jam band musicsexual.
The St. Louis Cardinals recently sent out emails to their fans asking them how the Cardinals can improve the experience at Grateful Dead Night at Busch Stadium.

You cheer for a team that's name is all about music then wonder why they celebrate music?

Grateful dead is a easy win they have a huge following and encourage a good time. Jake's leg themselves draw a pretty sizeable crowd themselves have seen them many times..

Heck I just spent 60 dollars on another Grateful dead hat last night.. lol

There are way more cover bands now, young people are into them, etc. I think it's a combination of the 50 year anniversary concert in 2015, more widespread availability of their live shows 24/7 through Sirius XM (and their live shows are why they're so popular), and of course the success of Dead and Company. I went to the 60th anniversary shows this summer in SF and it was mind-blowing...must've been 100k people there (or at least it felt like it)! And Sturgill mo**erfu**ing Simpson absolutely threw down!
I think every Dead Head in St. Louis has been to the Sphere in Las Vegas to see Dead and Company except me.
I saw a couple shows there in 2024, and it was absolutely an amazing experience...it's definitely worth it for you to try and get out there if they do another run.

That said, I chose not to go back this year. Would've been fun, but I'd honestly rather go back to seeing them at Citi Field. Which is more like a "real" Dead show and a heck of easier to get to! Plus I try to justify a weekend in Vegas for some Sphere shows as "not that expensive", but at the end of the day, you're dropping some serious coin by the time it's all said and done.
