Re: Blues Grateful Dead Night 10/15/25 details
Should be a good time! I bought a couple tickets to this when single-game tickets went on sale, thinking I could fly back home for a couple days and go with my buddies, but turns out that was uhhhh...a little optimistic on my part. Kind of snuck up on me, so now I am trying to get rid of two individual lower bowl tickets (they are not together, long story) well below face value if anyone is interested. Just PM me, we'll figure out a way to get it done.
The tie-die jersey associated with each is size L and will come with the ticket (it's a separate voucher in Ticketmaster...not sure if they will force you to get a Large or if you can get a different size).
We used to go see Jake's Leg at 20 North in the early 90s...those dudes must be old!
But ther're still getting it done, from what I hear.

Bummer you can't make it. Jake's Leg has been covering Grateful Dead tunes in St. Louis since 1976. You might want to post your message about the 2 tickets you have for sale on the St. Louis Deadheads & Friends facebook page.sneptsmoustache wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 12:19 pm Should be a good time! I dont get it. Never have with that band. Just a reason to try and sell a tie dye jersey I guess.

Like, why does everyone have to show their pride in the Grateful Dead. What about other bands? Why is there not a Dokken night or a Lionel Richie night?
It’s not that I have anything against the Grateful Dead, but I just don’t see why they insist on having their own night and shoving it down our throats.
It’s about sports, not music. Keep music out of sports.
I thought I’d get ahead of this considering folks lose their minds over other special nights, yet no one has said a word about this one. Surely, that is coming.
Personally, I’m proud of being a non-jam band musicsexual.

Pretty sure they burned one in the parking lot with Jake's Leg before the game.

The Blues head coach is a Dead Head. He goes to Jake's Leg concerts in St. Louis. He was spotted in the crowd at Shakedown Sunday with Jake's Leg at Jefferson Barracks Amphitheater two weeks ago.

The majority of NHL teams and MLB teams have Grateful Dead Nights with local Grateful Dead cover bands playing before the game. Just about every big city in the country has their own Grateful Dead cover band. St. Louis has over a half dozen Grateful Dead cover bands. Rock On !!!!

It's interesting - the Grateful Dead as a cultural phenomenon has actually accelerated for the last 10 years or so. There are way more cover bands now, young people are into them, etc. I think it's a combination of the 50 year anniversary concert in 2015, more widespread availability of their live shows 24/7 through Sirius XM (and their live shows are why they're so popular), and of course the success of Dead and Company. I went to the 60th anniversary shows this summer in SF and it was mind-blowing...must've been 100k people there (or at least it felt like it)! And Sturgill mo**erfu**ing Simpson absolutely threw down!

I think every Dead Head in St. Louis has been to the Sphere in Las Vegas to see Dead and Company except me.sneptsmoustache wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 08:30 am It's interesting - the Grateful Dead as a cultural phenomenon has actually accelerated for the last 10 years or so.
