I understand the weight of market size on $ and viewer but the MLB cant operate in a manner of pushing for only large market teams to succeed.

Re: MLB needs LA/Chicago
Just my take, I won’t have any interest in watching a Cubs Dodgers series, it shows everything wrong with baseball now. Toronto Seattle is far more interesting to me.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 08:13 am Im wondering, from the OP, WHY is it that they feel MLB needs LA / Chicago? A series where i wish somehow both teams could lose.
Re: MLB needs LA/Chicago
Agreed. It would also be valuable to the long term health of baseball if MLB didn't allow a few teams to buy up all the elite FA. Lots of changes needed.AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 07:50 am I've been pulling for a MIL-SEA series just so none of the large market teams get in. IMO the value of seeing the smaller market teams succeed is as valuable to the long term health of baseball.

FWIW, ratings are higher than they’ve been since 2010. Reports of baseball’s demise are greatly exaggerated!

You heard right.AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 07:56 amI think I heard SEA is the only team never BEEN in a series.12xu wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 07:55 amSame here. It's not likely to happen but I would love it - also because neither of these franchises have ever won a WS.AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 07:50 am I've been pulling for a MIL-SEA series just so none of the large market teams get in. OP, you are wrong.
Baseball needs a new commissioner and to clean out the other suits from their buildkng.

So far the Dodgers are 5-1 in the postseason.
If they dominate the Cubs/Brewers and then the AL Champion wouldn't that further point out that big money is creating an imbalance in baseball? And therefore some big changes are necessary to bring some balance back to the game in the form of salary caps or revenue sharing?
If a smaller market team should win it would be fun, but then the big boys can say, "See? Everything is fine!"

I think from a business perspective, MLB prefers that imbalancesp25 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 10:44 am So far the Dodgers are 5-1 in the postseason.

It will be the dodgers against probably the blue jays in the World Series. They are probably the only team that has a chance against the dodgers. Dodgers will make short work of the brewers or cubssp25 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 10:44 am So far the Dodgers are 5-1 in the postseason.

That’s because there are so many bad teams no one wants to watch in person and pay a lot to see in person. 20 years ago the cardinals were good and drawing 3 million now they suck and aren’tRamFan08NY wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 11:06 amNothing else in tv. Mlb attendance is down 8 million from 20 years ago
