You forgot mo turned on two of those names also and fired Them so either cards talk was right about MS and MM or Mo was wrong for firing them. Also the Dewitt’s turned on Mo they could have kept him around if they really wanted to and extended him but they showed him the doorPoojols wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 14:03 pmQuite a difference in the number of people who turned on some of those names.

Uproot his family? As far as I know, he and his family still make their home in California.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 16:45 pmI’m talking about from arenado pov all he saw was them dumping an MVP caliber player. It was probably hard to convince him that they are serious about winning when they got rid of him and it turns out he was right to be skeptical because again the astros and the cardinals were both officially still contenders going into the last of the season and both are in the same place watching the playoffs from home only arenado didn’t have to uproot his family to go miss the playoffsecleme22 wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 15:57 pmI wouldn’t say they dumped Tucker. To see his hitting deteriorate so badly the last few years was rather surprising. The post-prime curve has been steep. Watching him not often even really swinging but feeling for the ball reminds me of Dylan Carlson in his final days here. There is little power in that swing anymore. And a lot of his singles are bloops.
The last 2 years, his AEV has plummeted to 86.3 and 86.8, his lowest in the Statcast era and down from 88.8 in 2023. And his hard hit% has fallen to 31.6% and 32.6% the last 2 years, also his lowest in the Statcast era and down from 38.1% in 2023. His ISO, of course, also has plummeted to .123 and .140, down from .193 in 2023.
And now he is vastly overpaid, which was kind of expected with a contract like that. The Cardinals are going to have to eat a large amount of that contract if they can even find any buyers at all. Or take a bad contract in return, and what does that accomplish? Bloom has a tough job ahead.
We do know that he is expanding the list of teams as Nado indicated that in interviews.
Bloom and Nado will work out a trade .

Some people are just morons.ramfandan wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 16:29 pmand your number #4 .. the tangible results followed by 'the fans will want immediate results. There is the issue. Bloom is reworking the team for the long term and some fans want 'immediate results'. That is a very unlikely scenarioRunSup wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 14:04 pm It all depends on, ...
1. How he communicates with fans
2. What he is resourced and funded to do and over what time frame
3. Whether he does what he says he'll do
4. The tangible results.
The rub will come in #4. Fans will want immediate results. Everything he says he's doing are long term investments.
So when 2026 is another tank season, the bloom will come off the rose. (Or whatever the expression is)
Bloom be like, "We are trying to accumulate as many prospects as possible."
But morons be like, "Hey, we just need two big starter arms to be good in 2026!"

From what I read they live in St. Louis during the season so if he was traded he would have to uproot themicon wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 16:54 pmUproot his family? I can't believe you're still worrying that bone.hitting Goldy in the #2 hole was moronic.
For StL, hitting second: 1318 AB, 62 HR, 216 R, 190 RBI, 281/366/478
For StL, hitting anywhere else: 1826 AB, 91 HR, 279 R, 287 RBI, 275/355/487
Same rate of production, same slash line. Give it up, there's more to talk about.

Wikipedia informs me that Bloom has a BA in Latin Classics from Yale, where he was a member of The Society of Orpheus and Bacchus, whatever that is.
Also, his "first entry into the baseball world was an article in Baseball Prospectus in 1997, and he continued writing for it until he joined the Rays".
That last time and his time with the TB makes him my kind of nerd. You go, Chaim.

Bacchus was the Roman god of wine and revelry. Sounds fun to me.jcgmoi wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 17:29 pm Wikipedia informs me that Bloom has a BA in Latin Classics from Yale, where he was a member of The Society of Orpheus and Bacchus, whatever that is.

Re: How long till Card Nation turns on Bloom?
Bashers gotta bash. Bloom’s next in line.
Re: How long till Card Nation turns on Bloom?
IF Bloom communicates with fans as knowledgeable MLB fans and not pain in as* cash cows it will be a step in right direction.
Loose the word salad BBBZZZZ is will again go in the right direction.
Get rid of "we like this team", "we have a plan", blah blah blah and end up <.500 it will go along way.
Show enthusiasm for Cardinal organization. The death march look of MO Ran and DimWallets is pathetic.
He has 2027, plus a new manager to help him get a team on field competitive for 2028 Central title. Nothing less is acceptable.

I'll say this. And I can't be the only one. That press conference Bloom gave had a very profound salesperson undertone to it.
Whether he's a smart baseball man, that's very possible and yet to be determined. But he is most certainly proficient as a PR man.
Re: How long till Card Nation turns on Bloom?
He has to be better than Mozo the Clown...I wonder if the front office (donkey) kissers will flock to him...fortunately they are harmless.
Re: How long till Card Nation turns on Bloom?
I think the majority of the fan base will give Bloom a fair shot to improve things and hopefully be patient and not expect dramatic changes overnight.
Having said that....I don’t consider CT to be a fair representation of that fan base.
I admit to venting at times but the “anonymous” nature of the forum leads to some pretty bizarre stuff due to the complete lack of personal accountability.
At any rate.....Bloom has a lot on his plate and I doubt that includes obsessing over message boards! LOL

Re: How long till Card Nation turns on Bloom?
As has already been stated, retaining Marmol hasn’t done much to endear him to CardinalNation, but, like others have said, I don’t really believe that was his decision. So, this Winter will be telling as to how he does his job.
By many accounts, there will be a lot of player movement this off season. What kind of returns will he get for the players he moves?
I wasn’t very impressed with what was attained at the trade deadline, so let’s hope that was more Mo than Chaim, but I have my doubts. This team has some obvious flaws and weaknesses, will he actually fill those needs or just appear to? My meaning is, we need starting pitching, but what caliber of pitching will he get? I don’t expect any current #1, or #2’s, or even #3’s, but what kind of future potential will they be?
If Bloom trades away any of Donovan, Nootbaar, Contreras, Burleson, Herrera, Crooks, or some of our top minor league talent, he better get high, quality talent in return. Otherwise Cardinals Nation will be all over him, and deservingly so!
