Thanks for the reports, b-a-a-a-rclay. Really appreciate it.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 14:06 pm Another thing, Schenn and Walker worked with Dvorsky after practice on a couple drills around the crease.
Last guys to stop working on stuff and last to leave the ice after session 2 ... Hofer, Stancl, Susuev, Kessel and Holloway.

my boy barc says team Stancl looking good ...
if a guy with a ton of tools, size and good hockey IQ falls to the 4th round because everyone says his skating is terrible, and then his skating significantly improves, what kind of player is that ... ?

Blues top power play unit:
Snuggerud
Thomas-Schenn-Buchnevich
Fowler
I’m going to lose my mind

Probably the best shot on the team and we’re putting him net front
Just wait until he takes a shot off the ankle and is out for 4-6

I think it's important to realize that the team is split in half each session. They are practicing their formations and set plays with whoever makes sense in each session. Holloway, Kyrou, Suter, Broberg, Faulk, were in the other session. Also, Neighbours and Mailloux were mixed in with the young guys Carbonneau and Dvorsky on a power play unit in the first session. I would not jump to conclusions.BluesBirdsBuds wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 14:58 pm Blues top power play unit:

Re: Practice Lines 9-26-25
you make a fair point. but one thing I notice about Snuggy is he likes to get his nose dirtier than you might think for a younger, less man-strengthy player
I think they want Mailloux to take that second PPQB role if he can seize it

Mailloux looked pretty good running the power play with that younger group. He just needs experience/reps. His puck skills, walking the blue line, passing and shot are all plus.seattleblue wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 15:10 pm you make a fair point. but one thing I notice about Snuggy is he likes to get his nose dirtier than you might think for a younger, less man-strengthy player

That's right. Advertising 101.Nublues69 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 11:22 amThats cause he is stoking the texier value to trade him. Its subtle and effective. Joseph and texier need to go.BluesBirdsBuds wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 10:54 am Just based off his interviews, I get the feeling Army likes Texier or at least wants to see him get a longer look. Always seems to bring up his name and he really hasn’t gotten an opportunity here yet.
I honestly think Tex is the better player and a better option at 3RW. That said Joseph can kill penalties and I think that goes a long way with Monty
Would love to see Carbo push someone out, but it’s pretty crowded already. If he can get on the board again tomorrow night it’s going to go a long way. Says a lot that hes likely playing again tomorrow

Deflections, rebounds, slot shots, rotational roll-outs for open shots. Skill set: Eye-hand coordination, quick hands, quick accurate shot, willingness to mix it up, booming one-timer shot, plus hockey sense. Six checkmarks.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 15:08 pmI think it's important to realize that the team is split in half each session. Blues PP scheme has the netfront guy as the one time trigger guy. That exactly where you want Snuggerud.BluesBirdsBuds wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 14:59 pm Probably the best shot on the team and we’re putting him net front

Agreed. Don’t see him in the NHL until the 27-28 season at the earliest, and probably after that. Still not a big fan and don’t see the top pairing potential. Looks like a 5-6 Dman to me, but maybe a full and healthy season will change my mind. Until then, not even on my radar for the next couple seasons.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 18:49 pmNo, he can't. And he ain't. Jiricek us nowhere near ready for the NHL.

Re: Practice Lines 9-26-25
The Blues run the 1-3-1 PP. Most teams do these days. Used to be the umbrella or overload. In the 1-3-1, the net front guy isn’t just there to screen the goalie and get tips/deflections like some of the PP schematics of the past.
I see BBB’s point in that I'd probably put Snuggy on the wall to more utilize his one-timer but I could see him doing well at the net front too. Especially given the way the Blues run their 1-3-1.
In the end, I’m just glad we have quite a bit of firepower. Hopefully Monty and whatever assistant will be in charge of the PP (I think it’s Ott usually?) will find a couple good PP units and they start clicking. We have quite a few good options and I’m sure they’ll move guys around to see what works and what doesn’t.
