Carbonneau in today vs CBJ
Interesting. Looks like they are going to give him a chance to push his way onto the roster. I believe he's the only one double dipping.

Re: Carbonneau in today vs CBJ
It took me a little while last year to hone in on him and put forward his name in a situation where my prediction mattered to me. Picking him as the target meant not picking others.
But this kid just has "it" - you can see the quality of something that can't be taught. There is a force to this kid and he applies it in service of what he wants. I'm rooting for him to follow the Perron path and steal a spot. Doubtful but you have to love a player like this intent on disrupting plans

can you honestly imagine David Perron if he also were 6'1" linebacker build and wanted to truck people ...theograce wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:25 amHe’s your Perron. Well. Does he have the balls to do it consistently? Because when you play like that you become a target. I don’t think people realize how much abuse Perron took. For me it’s not just about the trucking…it’s about taking all the sticks in front of the net and having a world class French chirp. Perron took huge abuse he was a low key PITA to play against. I noticed tons of players take issue with how his competitiveness manifested. (I can utterly relate to this.) They are going to do the same to Carbo you are correct. My read on him is he he will lean into it and it's a signal the other team knows to take him seriously but more importantly his own teammates understand: We have things to win here boystheograce wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:33 amWell. I hope so. I was talking to my kid about it the other day. There’s just something about a French guy talking about your ugly girlfriend or fat sister that gets me going. French disturbers are my favorite. Hope to see Bolduc growing into it too.seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:39 amPerron took huge abuse he was a low key PITA to play against. Re: Carbonneau in today vs CBJ
It is worth watching the Game 7 broadcast on the French Canadian channel because they interview Perron on the ice twice during the celebration (and showing the Blais family and friends party during). That expression on his face after the fourth goal, every single thing he did on the ice was building to that moment. That moment in his head provided the centrifugal force for everything. That expression was the pleasure of it all, breaking over him. That is how Carbo is also held together. I am not saying other players also aren't, but I'm saying that certain type of people are not playing for money. They want the money to be fair and right but all they really care about is not getting taken advantage of for their good faith. If I could make one single off ice thing happen by snapping my fingers I would make Perron the new Federko on broadcasts and it would be one of the best things Blues fans ever got, he would be skilled at it.theograce wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:46 amI hope so. The goal wasn’t a pressure valve release as much as his celebration/behavior.seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:55 am It is worth watching the Game 7 broadcast on the French Canadian channel because they interview Perron on the ice twice during the celebration (and showing the Blais family and friends party during). When you make your Captain laugh out loud and shake his head during a moment like that you’re doing something special. He’s a true legend for the franchise. I’d love to talk to him. He just has the energy.
Go Carbs go

What if Perron was 1 inch taller, what would happen?seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:27 am can you honestly imagine David Perron if he also were 6'1" linebacker build and wanted to truck people ...

Re: Carbonneau in today vs CBJ
not sure 1 inch on his existing frame, but if he were taller and more built like a linebacker the way Carbonneau is and he played with the same Perron energy we saw then we likely would have seen more violence out there on the ice tbhMr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 13:36 pmWhat if Perron was 1 inch taller, what would happen?seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:27 am can you honestly imagine David Perron if he also were 6'1" linebacker build and wanted to truck people ...

You could have saved us the time by saying, "I think this is a bad comparison because they are essentially already equal" to which no that is not correct and your point, which I did originally take, was itself wrong and bad. Carbonneau is average NHL height & weight: I don't get the "linebacker" comparable (Perron is just slightly smaller)seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 14:12 pmYou could have saved us the time by saying, "I think this is a bad comparison because they are essentially already equal" to which no that is not correct and your point, which I did originally take, was itself wrong and bad. He's not no linebacker, just a medium sized dude that plays hockey. He's not like Byfuglien, Reaves or Grier, etc.
Yeah, we're done now.

Buchnevich-Thomas-Snuggerud
Holloway-Schenn-Kyrou
Neighbours-Suter-Dvorsky
Toropchenko-Bjugstad-Walker
Texier-Sundqvist-Joseph
Lucic
Carbonneau
Where exactly do we expect him to fit in? We are cluttered with forwards signed to NHL contracts.

Perron was what 180 maybe less at 18 Perron played the PITA well but he also got his (donkey) concussedseattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 13:50 pmnot sure 1 inch on his existing frame, but if he were taller and more built like a linebacker the way Carbonneau is and he played with the same Perron energy we saw then we likely would have seen more violence out there on the ice tbhMr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 13:36 pmWhat if Perron was 1 inch taller, what would happen?seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 10:27 am can you honestly imagine David Perron if he also were 6'1" linebacker build and wanted to truck people ...
