I’m from NO and now live in a major Florida city with crime. It’s going on everywhere. The issue is that most stadiums should be built in safer suburbs if possible but the owners want their cake and eat it too by getting cities to fund a significant part of the costs which they won’t do if it’s not in the city.

Very realistic movies (earthquakes) or true to life TV shows such as Defiance depict the destruction in St. Louis and finally reveal our mountains that have been cloaked..

So? You're as bad at trolling as you are at civics. Click on the second link, learn something. I know you think you're Thomas Jefferson, but you know less than George Jefferson. Saying stupid things loudly and repeatedly, is still saying stupid things.

bruceglazer99 wrote: 05 Sep 2025 10:14 am My wife and I will be traveling to St. Louis (from MA) this season for two Blues games. My concerns are about safety. Is it safe to use the Metro train to/from Lambert Field and also for the Gateway Arch? Is Uber a better alternative?

Also, is it safe to walk from the Drury Inn (at Union Station) to/from Enterprise Center, or should we take an Uber?

Bruce
The city is a thousand times safer than people perceive.

This is NOT a public transit city, however, you should take Uber.

You will be 100% safe walking from Union Station to Enterprise.

lol…you guys are arguing about something that you are both right and wrong. There are kids writing college thesis papers on whether we are a democracy or a republic so I doubt you will solve this debate on this forum. If you ask most scholars they would say we are a Federal Presidential Republic but even that is debatable as the tides of power and influence between the state and federal and the influence of our elected officials are ever changing.

The United States is a democratic republic, blending elements of democracy (where citizens influence government through voting) and a republic (where elected representatives govern). The Founding Fathers designed a system of checks and balances, including a bicameral legislature and the Electoral College, to prevent any single group from gaining too much power. The Constitution serves as the supreme law, ensuring stability while allowing amendments to adapt to changing times.
