I think it's IPad management. It confuses me as well, especially cooling off hitters that have a good day.

I think it’s because it’s MM and it’s just a 1 run lead. I don’t have a problem with it. You get 6 and 1 run out of him you thank the lord and go to the pen

Yep. Sometimes even a bad starter has a good night. MM was having one. He deserved the chance to at least start the next inning with that pitch count.
