If you really want to get excited, then you should be calling out Mo the Idiot for not bringing up JJW:

26 GP @ Memphis
9 HR
17 RBI's
25 Runs
.310 .403 .670 1.073

Giving Saggese playing time at 2nd base over JJW is yet another stupid move by Mo. :x
Saggese has hit well outside of that ice cold stretch. Id like to see him get chances to prove himself or prove he needs to be discarded. Oli and mo did saggese no favors by benching him and demoting him when he was in the middle of his hot streak earlier in the year. He was gonna cool off but why bench a guy during his hot streak for a guy coming off the il that wasnt hitting prior to il. Just trustrating.

Jjs time will come.

The thing concerning about saggese though is the lack of walk rate. He doesmt have a ton of power i think for mlb and he strikes out plenty, so he really needs to improve his batting eye. Or else he is doomed to be medium avg low opb and slg% hitter
All he is is a singles hitter w/no power and an average at best fielder.

He has no position here (Gorman/NADO--3rd, Winn-SS, JJW-2nd) other than end of the bench SUP.

He's J.A.G.

I could see Fermin and Saggese as top utility players for next season. I really don't know why Fermin was sent down. He is better than Hampson.

You give Saggese as much rope as needed now. Done committed. This will adequately thin out the position if he don’t stick.

Bring JJ up now, he gets limited play on a crowded infield. Not good for rythm and sync toward hitting, which needs constant play.

I let the process play out.
Nope, waste of playing time for a player who's J.A.G. and has NO POSTION other than possible being the back of the bench, last player on the roster in 2026.

NADO/Gorman--3rd, Winn-SS--JJW-2nd

Wasted playing time that should be going to prep the only potential star the team has in it's entire system for 2026.

Limited Playing Time? 8O

WHAT?

So you actually think you should play Saggese and his .245 .278 .329 .607 over the #1 prospect in your system?

C'mon BDog

JJ should be up here NOW and playing every game at 2nd base, Saggese back to the bench where he belongs.

Can't wait for the idiot Mo to be gone, guy has no clue.

That’s a scenerio I fear- limited at bats. Crowded house. I agree on Saggese. I hear ya- but it’s just 35 more games. Nothing to prove here.

Come ST the infield will look different. JJ will then get his shot.

No Way you bring up JJW and he sits behind JAG Saggese.

Whats' to "prove" BDog is allowing JJW to get prepped for 2026, just as they did w/M. Winn.

And JJW won't be getting his "shot" next spring, he is THE starting 2nd baseman in 2026.

Remember, the idiot Mo is gone so no more screwed up roster.

Some of you nits use to to label Burleson as a JAG just like you are now with Saggese. Some of you likely still claim Burly still is. You're funny.

Maybe he will take at bats away from Burly when there are tough lefties on the rubber.

Why are you so personally invested in what other people think of certain players? Any time someone doesn't recognize their awesomeness you go throw a hissy fit and hurl personal insults. Settle down.

If you're referring to me I never said Burly was JAG, I (correctly) said he was a platoon player given his horrible career
.234 .267 .336 .603 slash vs LHP.

Saggese is a former 5th round draft pick w/a career .234 .271 .323 .594 slash.

Since 8/1:
.261 .277 .304 .581

He may be good enough to stick on a ML roster as the last man on the bench due to his ability to play multiple positions (but just an average fielder at "0" OAA).

That slash and average fielding = JAG

Sort of interesting. So to fix the glut in the infield now they move everyone to the outfield. We have Noot, Scott, Walker. Potential outfielders Burleson, IH, Donny, Church, Hamp, not sure who else. Oh yea some said move JJ out there.

What we need is more players that can hit and play a defensive position. We spend more time fitting a square peg in a round hole.

Saggase demonstrating his versatility at SS this evening. And moving up to #6 in the lineup. I hope he does add outfield to his defensive resume' in spring training.

What do your old pals Robert M. Shelton and Wally Butterworth's Red Sox scout cousin have to say about Saggese?

Imagine if he were in the starting rotation at the beginning of the season. In retrospect. He would've been an ACE, too. Evidently.

He could've been the quadriplegic version of Chris Carpenter

Who is “Saggase”?

Is he a new “fine young prospect” you’ve “discovered?” What position does he play?

It is just not a good baseball decision to bring up JJ before September. As for Saggese he hit for decent power in the minors, so let's give him some more at bats in the majors before we categorize him as a singles hitter.
