Four hits for the 20 year old Baez tonite is encouraging. I noticed he has 10 HRs on the season. So he must have some power.craviduce wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 21:11 pm Dayton 14, Peoria 3 ***FINAL***

your question/post ~
Hey Crav, I know you took off the last couple days and you may have missed my post on our minor league pitchers. I rated them by what they have done in their minor league careers so far per their number by their number of innings pitched.
Davis was #1, Mathews #2, Ixan #3, Hince #4, Rincon #5, Lin #6, Hansen #7, Rajcic #8, B. Thompson, and Rom tied for #9. McGreevy was #11.
I would be interested as to how you’d rank them going forward.
-----------------
My ranking going forward
1) Mathews
2) Henderson
3) Roby....but he's lost until 2027
4) McGreevy....but I think he's lost his Prospect status
5. Davis...too many walks, but he's miss twice as many bats. Get the walks under control and he's an ACE....like Sonny Gray as a LHP. Short of stature, but incredible in stretches.
6. Mautz
7. Lin...need to see him healthy next year.
8 Rajic...steady 4 1/2 ERA that battles control on his Change Up. Sometimes on, more off
9. Hansen...probably a Loogy eventually...fastball isn't great. Other pitches are, does better or did better vs. LHB.
10. Thompson...I'm not a Brandt Thompson fan...he's Mautz on steroids...too many HRs for his innings pitched.
Others. Hence....I don't think he'll ever pitch in the majors. Poor kid....great stuff, but he's in need of Food and Nutritionist to make his body bigger, and so wound tight that he's breaks when he sneezes. If he can get bigger and better frame he's a dangerous pitcher
Hjerpe...never liked the pick...hated he waited two FULL years for the TJ surgery. One of worst First ROund picks ever.
Winquest...keeps doing remarkably well in Springfield, but he's a reliever long term, like Leahy.
Of course...this is missing the 2025 picks....Doyle, Franklin...a few others from that class.
2026 will tell us more about AD IV. I like the kid from Vandy...he's gonna be a good one.

It's hard to call Hjerpe anything but a trainwreck so far, but I am a little more hopeful for his future than you are. That it took two years for him to have surgery is incredible! Not sure if that is on the player, or the org, but wow.craviduce wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 21:29 pm @Hoosier59

Thanks. He has the slider too. But may be back of the rotation guy if the shoulder doesn't get stronger.craviduce wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 21:55 pm91-92mph ... trying for control, until he trusts it.
