18th in attendance
Not good for Cards history of attendance.
Re: 18th in attendance
It’s a poor product.
People are wise to reject it.

Seems about right for discretionary spending.

Re: 18th in attendance
If they had pursued a proper rebuild since mid-2023, which I'd define as something more than just processing expiring contracts, attendance might have been worse these past two seasons, but it would at least have the feeling of purpose behind it.
Whether current mgmt is incapable of, or being blocked from, doing this, you can decide for yourself. But a "reset" that seems to have as a strategy remaining a ~ .500 team that can nominally chase the 3rd WC makes for a longer road back to true competitiveness...and more robust attendance.

Re: 18th in attendance
In a three way tie for 17th in overall W/L record. A fan base that was duped with farewell tours and bobble head nights has not bought this milk toast meh product. Can we just go ahead and bring on Bloom and Cerfollio? This sentimental soft landing for Mo is killing this team and its fans.
Re: 18th in attendance
There are reasons for the lackluster attendance. IMO here they are, not in any order:
Fan frustration/mediocre product. BDW and POBO have hurt the product with multiple years of bad decisions. From Dexter Fowler Brett Cecil and Mike Leake to Miles Mikolas and Eric Fedde it's just been a litany of poor decisions and talent evaluations.
The weather. It's either been raining or hotter than the surface of Mercury seemingly every home stand. That certainly hasn't helped.
Cost of attendance. The Cardinals have some of the highest ticket and concession prices in MLB. It's been a few years since I've been but I bought beers, hot dogs and Cokes at Yankee Stadium cheaper than Busch. Add in parking, which I know the team doesn't control most of it and going to a game, especially as a family, has gotten out of reach for a lot of people. And BDW is saying season ticket prices might go up 15% next year? Insanity.
Just my 2 pennies.

Time, comfort, cost, safety vs poor play by mediocre players and a dysfunctional organization
I'm surprised they draw as many as they do

Not saying he'd fill the stadium but what a STUPID missed marketing opportunity BDWJr/Mo are making by keeping JJW down in Memphis when they could interject some life in this fan base by bringing him up and he's earned a promotion.

He will represent the new Bloom regime in 2026. Don’t want to bring him up now..rockondlouie wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 09:00 am Not saying he'd fill the stadium but what a STUPID missed marketing opportunity BDWJr/Mo are making by keeping JJW down in Memphis when they could interject some life in this fan base by bringing him up and he's earned a promotion.![]()

I remember when some posted attendance was down because school was not out, then it was the rain, then it was the summer heat.
Re: 18th in attendance
Not to mention how the team is currently 3 position players short and calling up JJ will not hurt his time clock situation.rockondlouie wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 09:00 am Not saying he'd fill the stadium but what a STUPID missed marketing opportunity BDWJr/Mo are making by keeping JJW down in Memphis when they could interject some life in this fan base by bringing him up and he's earned a promotion.![]()

I disagree. He seems to be grooming for third. That position is currently being auditioned for by Gorman and Saggese. There, right there, is a no go.12xu wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 09:04 amNot to mention how the team is currently 3 position players short and calling up JJ will not hurt his time clock situation.rockondlouie wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 09:00 am Not saying he'd fill the stadium but what a STUPID missed marketing opportunity BDWJr/Mo are making by keeping JJW down in Memphis when they could interject some life in this fan base by bringing him up and he's earned a promotion.![]()

Then his at bats will not be predictable spread out and sparse. He won’t get into a rythm like everyday play.
I see no benefit in him up. Cup of coffee is a myth. Goes cold real fast.

Idiotic not to bring him up so he can get his feet wet, meet his teammates, find a place to live and learn St. Louis, experience big league travel, the media, ect......
And JJW/Doyle etal acquired in the past two seasons ALREADY represent the new Bloom regime, don't have to wait for 2026 for that.
