If Scott has to go on the IL does Church get the call up?

i know one of our posters had him as a poster child for a hot minute when he got released and then picked up by the birds.... future starter or high leverage reliever.

and MO is cluesless to acquire such low, very low hanging fruit
but, it's what MO does

That is an indictment of The Marmot and the staff.
Neither outfielder had any interest in even attempting a throw.

I get it but, Walker is no outfield General.
Re: GDT : Cards vs. Yankees (8/16) ~ 6:15pm CDT
He's wrong on the Scott attempt. Scott tracked that all the way and made a great attempt to catch it and barely missed. He had to get momentum going to jump at the wall. I'll take that over Bader just watching the ball sail over his head.Rosie's Rule wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 20:55 pm 1000% Mel on the ScottWalker catch attempts although Scott made a competitive effort.

Oh, I think Walker was all, primed to make the throw, but Hampson called him off. If you watch the replay Walker is waving Hampson off, but Hampson wouldn’t relent, and then soft tossed it to 2nd base. Afterwards Walker was upset!

You can thank Mo for this roster.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 20:51 pmWho on the roster is?Whatashame wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 20:46 pm Hampson taking Scott II spot in the sixth inning. For medical attention is one thing but if Scott is out we have to bring someone up. We can’t play 3 short, can we? Plus Hampson can’t get regular playing time. He just isn’t a ML player.![]()
This is on him.

I remember going to the baseball games back in the old Bush Stadium as a kid and watching Bob Gibson pitch. I have been a fan from then to now. But I stopped watching and paying attention years ago when I felt the owners really stopped putting heart and soul into the team and just wanted to get older players they could pay for less or get a player who was decent but wouldn't demand big money...they seemed to always come in second just to make it look like they were going after big time players. They seemed to sorta just want to get by and look to the fans as if they really are trying to be competitive when they really wasnt at all. I kinda got excited by the winning streak they had earlier in the season. This team team has a few good players. They need new owners but that aint an option. I guess once hes done with Baseball village, he will put heart and soul into the team. To have the history we have with the Cards, there is no way we should be this bad. Some one said earlier in this thread Moe destroyed this team...well he didnt do it by his self. The owners helped him. For crying out loud, the owners wont even get a real coach! I hope while im still on this earth, I get to see Cards in the WS again. I love my Cardinals.

Maybe it doesnt “sway” the game, but you still keep playing. Walker was wanting to compete, Hampson simply conceded the run.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 21:12 pmThat play doesnt sway the game guys. That’s a huge difference.

Yep.
He realized his mistake too late.
His ball.
His throw.
And he didn't.
That is a lack of paying attention.
