KC Star predictions for Mizzou FB.
#1. Starting QB will be Sam Horn. ( I disagree)
#3. Ahmad Hardy will break Schrader's single season rushing record. ( Hope so. I'm a believer in the run first approach)
#4. Zion Young will lead the team in tackles. ( I'm very high on Young. Expecting him and McClellan to wreak havoc.)
Game predictions: Mizzou loses to Vandy on the road. (Very much doubt that)

1) would be a surprise.
3) Schrader had 21 carries per game at almost 6 yards a pop. That's a big body of work to match.
4) DE's don't lead teams in tackles
FWIW, CFN predicted a loss to Vandy too.

This is the first I've heard that Horn is in the lead. Every other source is betting on Pribula.
If Pribula does prevail, then I think he will take significant carries away from Hardy. I expect big things from Hardy, but predicting a record setting season is a hot take
Vanderbilt has more talent this season than they had last season, so it's not a gimme.
If a DE leads the team in tackles, then football will have become a completely different game. If they really meant sacks, then ok. To me, that means Smith and Wilson didn't live up to the hype, or Zion Young became a 1st round pick.

This the deepest QB bench we’ve had in a long time, certainly the best under Drinkwitz.

Vandy's Diego Pavia is quite the media darling. He is a good arm and elusive but he can't win a game by himself. A balanced D and he loses
Re: KC Star predictions for Mizzou FB.
I have my doubts Pavia and Vandy can match their magical 2024 but they won't be an easy out.

Worth noting the article lists these as their bold predictions for the season. Makes the context of numbers 1, 3, and 4 make a bit more sense.
Also I disagree on all of them except 5. Pribula starts, Zollers is given the year to learn (injury or disasters aside), the staff rotates the backs too much, Newsom or Catalon lead in tackles.

The Star is much more interested in all things beaker.
Re: KC Star predictions for Mizzou FB.
Other than Young leading in tackles it's a good enough list of predictions.
I would hope he would have stated a source if he has one on Horn getting the nod.
I agree with him on the Kansas game and it's importance and potential problems for the Tigers but I also agree the Tigers win it.
I mean duh but it's truer for Missouri than other teams it's the QB performance that's going to dictate any lifting shot at the CFP's.
They have to be 5-0 when Bama comes to town, just for starters.
I think Missouri surprises this year and will indeed be in the hunt for that play off spot.

It's interesting how people reading sn article on football assume it's a 'he' as the writer....dhsux wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 10:12 am Other than Young leading in tackles it's a good enough list of predictions.

agree. Not sure why the people conducting the polls on negative on Mizzou. Pre-season polls have proven to be worthless.dhsux wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 10:12 am Other than Young leading in tackles it's a good enough list of predictions.
