Wow how the standards have fallen. Is that Pedro Martinez out there? No it's a guy with an ERA worse than Fedde

Saggese’s 3 out of 4 tonight.Adam2 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 20:51 pmWow how the standards have fallen. Is that Pedro Martinez out there? No it's a guy with an ERA worse than Fedde

Burley needs to lose 15Barrys_head wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 18:34 pm I just watched the pregame interview with Jim Hayes and Saggese. Thomas seems to be a polite, dedicated young man. He appears to have a slight build, the Cat looked buffed compared to him. Lol Maybe if Saggase hits the weight room he could be the future at 2b. I wish him well as a Cardinal.
Saggesse needs to gain 15

Dollander was ranked ahead of Misiorowski & Chase Burns by all the prospect dudes coming into ‘25. That seems tough.
Re: Saggese looks solid at 3B and 2B defensively
With Saggese getting some hits and Gorman making throwing errors at 3rd , it appears Saggese could have more playing time in final 6 weeks .
Wtherholt will be playing a lot too .
Gorman may have to fight for his at bats as a DH down the stretch whatever number they are.

I wonder who’s better at 3B - Wetherholt or Saggese.ramfandan wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 22:45 pm With Saggese getting some hits and Gorman making throwing errors at 3rd , it appears Saggese could have more playing time in final 6 weeks .

It will be an interesting off season for sure. I do think Wetherholt will be a starter out of Spring Training. I think Saggese could also be a starter or super utility player. There are a lot of things to happen in the off season to make it happen.

Just wonder who has the strongest arm from 3B.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑12 Aug 2025 07:55 am It will be an interesting off season for sure. I do think Wetherholt will be a starter out of Spring Training. After watching Gorman the last few games I would expect to see Saggese at third most nights if Nado isn't available, but it's hard to figure Oli sometimes.ramfandan wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 22:45 pm With Saggese getting some hits and Gorman making throwing errors at 3rd , it appears Saggese could have more playing time in final 6 weeks .

Saggese has upped his BA to .258. Contreras is at .256. Gorman's is .226.Cranny wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 20:54 pmSaggese’s 3 out of 4 tonight.Adam2 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025 20:51 pmWow how the standards have fallen. Is that Pedro Martinez out there? No it's a guy with an ERA worse than Fedde

Contreras: 123 wRC+, 121 OPS+
Gorman: 104 wRC+, 104 OPS+
Saggese: 82 wRC+, 83 OPS+ (in a whole 128 PAs!)
What’s your point?

I like his ”all out” play. And he’s only 23 years old.Shady wrote: ↑12 Aug 2025 09:51 amSaggese has upped his BA to .258. Contreras is at .256. “But you already knew that.”

You’re the one comparing stats, with no reference to ML experience (PAs) or age.
