O'Brien had Suzuki struck out - did not get the call on pitch #5.

These two guys have to play nearly every day here on out. Players like Donovan, Contreras, and Nootbaar, do not need to play everyday, and Hampson doesn’t need to start at all.
You know UniKKKorn had a bad back during the ASB? And took awhile after that, for it to get better...

He's due up next inning and you don't want to take his bat out of the lineup in a 1 run game.
Agree to disagree.

I'd protect the one run lead.

With the exception Conteras, I pretty much agree.

Looks like The Marmot is locked into that decision.
We shall see how that works out....
Should depend on the L-R matchups.

Roles could be switched accordingly.

If we still have the lead going into the 9th, I agree. But you don't want to pull his bat out yet if you might need it in the Bottom of the 8th here.

I think that is exactly how The Marmot plans to use those 2.
Romero gets whichever inning has the most dangerous LH bats.
O' Brien get the RH heavy inning.

...Good game...! I like these low-scoring pitching contests...(but only if the Cards win...) Cards need 3 more outs before Cubs score, and they win the game, and the series... I can hope...

Team could be 5-4 against three playoff positioned teams since the TD if they hold this lead.

It's a funny game.

Cards survive the lucky bloop hit.
Oli made the right % move but I was almost hoping he’d have left Riley in there to see how he responded.

Melville wrote: 10 Aug 2025 20:56 pm That is why Gorman plays.
That RBI was good but also made up for the errant throw to first.
Cubs then got 2 run homer which should have been solo shot byPCA had Gorman thrown accurately.
So on the night he is EVEN in my book so far.
Gave up one .. drove in one .
