What?Youboughtit wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 14:48 pmI have had Kwan in fantasy and he’s always hurt. I am saying their advanced stats including WAR are very comparableSwuhgen wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 14:36 pmKwan can actually stay on the field and is a gold glover. No way he and Noot are considered on par in the market.Youboughtit wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 13:22 pmWell they discussed it and his numbers are on par with Kwan who apparently is getting huge offers.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 13:21 pm I guess they might want Donovan and Burleson in the lineup next season, but Nootbaar likely has little to no market from others. Also might get more in the off season for the first two.Spoiler
2022 147g
2023 158g
2024 122g
2025 102g
Noot
2022 108g
2023 117g
2024 109g
2024 88g
Kwan was hurt in 2024 for 30 games. That must have been the year you had him on fantasy baseball. He is way more available than Noot.

SIAP but some of these guys could very well be traded over the winter. I think a strong case can be made to trade BD but it might make a lot more sense to entertain trade proposals over the winter. The guys on 101 this morning didn't seem to ever realize that possibility.
Re: 101.1 Katie Woo just reported
As I’ve said this organization has become like the Pirates. They no longer care about competing at the major league level. It would cost to much, given they have failed for to many years to rework the roster. None of those guys are someone you can build around. They could be fillers but you have to some quality major leaguers, and some top line pitchers. They don’t have a lead off hitter who is consistent, they sure don’t have a 3 and four type batter. And the pitching staff is a complete disaster. The will not compete for years with current ownership.Youboughtit wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 13:17 pm The Cardinals will not entertain any offers for Nootbar Donovan and Burleson and views them as “core pieces” and starters next season. Someone please show me a lineup next year with all 3 of them starting and who is on the bench. Please explain this logic
Re: 101.1 Katie Woo just reported
For Burleson, Noot, and Donny to all start next year Herrera is going to have to catch and guys like Wearherholt will have to stay in AAA. Unless they are planning on making some unexpected trades with some of Arenado, Contreras, Walker, Winn.
If they do all start the rotation is going to have to be top 5 in the game for the team to compete

Spot on. They ridding org of 3 starting pitching contracts and 101 radio says in off season cards will likely sign one starter who is a bounce back type veteran. LOL, they just refuse to get the number 2 they need and sit on their money. They are the Pirates. Why is local media accepting yet another, large payroll drop and transition to Pirates?Braund241 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:08 pmAs I’ve said this organization has become like the Pirates. The #2 starter that we need? Buddy, you gotta have a #1 to have a #2.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:14 pmSpot on. Come on man, you don't really believe that they're just shutting things down all of a sudden, right?
There is a lot of lead up to these trade deadlines. I'm sure there's been a lot of conversations between teams in the last few weeks about various structures of a deal. It sounds like they're merely saying that it doesn't look like there's any kind of momentum on getting one done like there has been for other players.
Like why Maton didn't travel with the team to San Diego yesterday. There had been enough conversations with other teams that they are confident that they're going to get a deal done one way or the other.
So of course there's a bunch of deals up in the air probably at all times over the past few weeks, it's just that some probably have traction and some don't. I'm sure there is a possibility that if someone called Mo an hour from now and offered some stud prospect for Donovan or Burleson or whoever, they could get the deal done. But I don't think that's how the real world works.

Please tell me Pages is not the starting catcher next year. 15 of the top 30 prospects (maybe a stretch) are catchers. Surely one is a better option.Youboughtit wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 13:33 pmIt why not listen? Why say they are unavailable? Tell me where Burleson plays everyday and I will agreeJatalk wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 13:25 pmI get Donovan. Burleson I sort of get. Noot I can’t explain but I find it hard to believe Noot is getting a lot of interest.Youboughtit wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 13:17 pm The Cardinals will not entertain any offers for Nootbar Donovan and Burleson and views them as “core pieces” and starters next season. Contreras
Wetherholt
Winn
Donovan
Pages
Scott
Walker
Arenado/Gorman
Hererra
Who are Nootbar and Burleson replacing to consider them “core pieces” and unavailable in trade. Bench players are always tradeable

Wasn't us not including Nootbar in the deal the reason we didn't acquire Sean Murphy?

Re: 101.1 Katie Woo just reported
So, I'm going to guess some people think that most of the players on the current team suck, right? And I'm guessing some people also think that most of the players that we just traded for suck, right And then I have to also guess that some people think most of our prospects suck, right?Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:17 pm Maybe you missed 101s report of Goold saying it will be a "quiet" off season.
If that's the case, then why wouldnt it be a quiet off-season? Who would we have on our MLB team to trade that other teams would want? What prospects are we going to be able to give up to other teams to acquire good players? I don't see how it would really be much of an off-season if that's the case.
Re: 101.1 Katie Woo just reported
I believe it'll be quiet from a FA perspective but I'd be shocked if Bloom isn't making some major trades. And I don't find particularly credible right now any reports of what they'll do in 5 months, unless they're coming straight from Bloom or DeWitt.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 15:17 pmMaybe you missed 101s report of Goold saying it will be a "quiet" off season.
