Anyone really believe:
1. MO Ran and the Marmot know who Kissel was?
2. MO Ran and Marmot have the intellectual ability to understand Cardinal Way and Kissel?
NO to both and the primary reason the Cards are failing.

And I wasn't a huge fan. But he did clean up the fundamentals as cards manager. He was gifted Kissell's binder after George's death. Im sure he took it to SD when he left.RichieRichSTL wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 10:34 amAgreed. Shildt probably us not the best strategist and i am not sure about BP usage, but his teams do not tend to defeat themselves on fundamentals and he doesnt have the oli mindset on losing. But Shildt was a long termer the Cardinal''s system, so Im not surprised he has that old school outlook.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 09:04 am Kissell's version of the "Cardinals Way" ended when Mozeliak fired Shildt. The full transition to analytics was made then.
I wonder if Bloom will receive a copy of "Mo's Way"?![]()

90 wins 3 years ago. 90 losses 2 years ago. Maybe 90 losses THIS year. Who was the last StL manager to experience two 90 loss seasons?WLTFE wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 11:13 amBut...but...they won 90+ games!!!...why are the fans (upset)?JuanAgosto wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 11:10 am'How to anger an entire fanbase by driving a winning franchise off a cliff'.WLTFE wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 11:06 amMo-ran's Way.. I was at the game Tuesday. Witnessed several fundamental mistakes. Perhaps they should also be teaching them in the majors?bccardsfan wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 08:26 amThe Cardinal Way is just about how to play fundamental baseball. They are still teaching fundamentals in the minors the last time I checked.....
Re: The Cardinals Way
Mo has been in the Cardinals organization for 30 years. He knew Kissel well. Guess you forgot that.

Is saying you will count on your farm system and then massively failing on developing and building industry standard farm system infrastructure, "the cardinal way?"
