What's the most $$ Cardinals would pay to move Arenado ?

To get a chance to trade Nolan Arenado , the Cardinals will have to eat plenty of his remaining dollars.
The more they eat , the better the return they get in prospects.
They could eat a minimal and receive very little in return too. So two ways they can go in getting Arenado out of St. Louis .

The nice thing for Arenado is that he gets his full contract paid . For him , it probably comes down to whether he wants to go right now or accept something at the Winter Trade meetings. I highly doubt he will want to return in 2026 . Just my opinion.

It's either Mo trading him today or Bloom dealing him in December is how I see it . Feel he will waive his NTC either way .

If they did that, he should be worth less than $10M/yr to another team.* Heck, Hayes is around that much per year for 4 more years and he's a worse hitter( NA= 84 wRC+ vs KH = 57 wRC+). Houston should get him for the Crawford boxes alone.

2026 - $27M but CO pays $5M and $6M deferred until 2032-2041, so that leaves a real PV of ~$19M
2027 - $15M
Total = ~$34M so if they pay $20M it's $7M/yr. Or so it seems.
