But following him early on, I started to think that wasn't a forgone conclusion. He struggled hard early on to where I thought if I saw a "Pirates DFA Pham" I wouldn't be surprised.
But look at his regurgence below. He might very well get traded to his 11th team...
PHAM MARCH: 2/17, .387 OPS
PHAM APRIL: 14/77, 477 OPS
END OF APRIL: .460 OPS
PHAM MAY: 293 BA /.356 OBP / 293 SLUG / .649 OPS
END OF MAY: .207 BA / .280 OBP / .237 SLUG / .517 OPS
PHAM JUNE: .302 BA / .372 OBP /.488 SLUG / .861 OPS
END OF JUNE: .230 BA / .303 OBP / .298 SLUG / 601 OPS
PHAM JULY: .388 BA / .446 OBP / .597 SLUG / 1.043 OPS
PHAM NOW: .273 BA / .342 OBP / .722 OPS
He's killing it. I hope he goes to a contender with the opportunity of getting a ring.

He grew up in a very bad area of Las Vegas. Fighting was normal. He’s never moved on from that.ecleme22 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 16:06 pmLOL.Cranny wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 15:52 pmBad actor, Ecleme.ecleme22 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 00:44 am After his ho hum 2024, I couldn't believe the Pirates gave him a major league contract worth 2.5mil. And yet he’s had more success than anyone on this forum. Sounds like a great story to me, but don’t let us stop you from virtue signaling on an anonymous Internet forum.Cranny wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 16:11 pmHe grew up in a very bad area of Las Vegas. Re: OT: The crazy resurgence of Tommy Pham
I don't know if this thread is about Pham anymore but Tommy can stick it somewhere. The guy hits a grand slam in his first AB as a returning Cardinal and then ... nada nada nada. Was worthless, unless, of course, he's playing for a different team and facing the Cardinals, at which point he returns to All-Star form.

I remember back in the 90s when some old players had a resurgence. You don't hear about that too often now. Maybe Tommy could help his former teammate Arenado out on how to get better with age.

Re: OT: The crazy resurgence of Tommy Pham
Looking at Pham's stats, the only time he's played above average since he left the TB Rays (2019!) was in 2023 during his New York Mets stint, where he hit .268 (.820 OPS), with 10 homers and 36 rbi in 79 games. Other than that, he has been ho hum. Really other than that HR in the WS with the Diamondbags he's been (donkey) for about 6 years.
So yeah, pretty amazing that Pham keeps getting these jobs. Baseball must have a heck of a DEI program going on!!

Yeah I'll take Tommy Pham on my team. If it's a team of muggers or bank robbers. Or gangbangers.

He wasn’t facing the Cards in the playoffs last year when he hit .455 in the ALDS.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 16:37 pm I don't know if this thread is about Pham anymore but Tommy can stick it somewhere. Re: OT: The crazy resurgence of Tommy Pham
Since the start of 2020, Pham's gangster (donkey) has been worth 1.1 War/162G, in 652 total games played during that time according to baseball-reference

You can take the boy out of the hood, but you just can't take the hood out of the boy.

Re: OT: The crazy resurgence of Tommy Pham
Does it really matter where he grew up? To me it only matters what kind of carer he has had. At this point, not a great career, and I was always hopeful.
