OT: The crazy resurgence of Tommy Pham

Post by ecleme22 »

After his ho hum 2024, I couldn't believe the Pirates gave him a major league contract worth 2.5mil. Follwing Tommy Pham, I knew he was only about 16 hit away from 1000. So I thought, that's cool. Tommy will get his 1000th hit. But following him early on, I started to think that wasn't a forgone conclusion. He struggled hard early on to where I thought if I saw a "Pirates DFA Pham" I wouldn't be surprised.

But look at his regurgence below. He might very well get traded to his 11th team...

PHAM MARCH: 2/17, .387 OPS
PHAM APRIL: 14/77, 477 OPS

END OF APRIL: .460 OPS

PHAM MAY: 293 BA /.356 OBP / 293 SLUG / .649 OPS

END OF MAY: .207 BA / .280 OBP / .237 SLUG / .517 OPS

PHAM JUNE: .302 BA / .372 OBP /.488 SLUG / .861 OPS

END OF JUNE: .230 BA / .303 OBP / .298 SLUG / 601 OPS

PHAM JULY: .388 BA / .446 OBP / .597 SLUG / 1.043 OPS

PHAM NOW: .273 BA / .342 OBP / .722 OPS

He's killing it. I hope he goes to a contender with the opportunity of getting a ring.

Good things happen to good people…
Who wouldn’t want a 40 year old .700 OPS, OF who by all accounts, is a piece of sh-t?

Pham=P[ositively] O[bnoxious] S[impleton]. There’s two reasons why he can’t stick with a team. 1) GMs are crazy and look for the hottest thing, and 2) he’s a nasty asz person who brings nothing to the clubhouse. Just the kind of guy Ecleme loves. Hope you get over your fever soon.

Y'all are awfully contemptuous about a guy you've never met. Maybe you wouldn't want Tommy marrying your daughter but he's always been OK by me. I bet his teammates agree.

Why would I have to meet him to know enough about him to be contemptuous? Should we have had a drink or a meal before I can have an opinion? How about lending him money? What a silly comment.

Yep.

Funny that Basil thinks he knows more than MLB front offices.

Also, yeah I'm totally obsessed with Pham. I think this is my first Pham OP in years.

lol...MLB front offices are as quick to get rid of his malcontent butt as they are to bring him in.

He is brought in by low-budget teams to fill a spot on a low-dollar 1 year deal with the hope of flipping him to a contender late in the season for a fringe prospect. Don't kid yourself Pham fanboy.

Yep. Not many guys have recovered from two separate stabbing attacks. Congrats, Tommy.
