I don't know why people here are so enamored or obsessed with Spencer Jones.

Jones isn't the top rated Yankees prospect. MLB has him #4
Keith Law doesn't have Jones in his top 60
He's not in Fangraphs updated top 100

The Cardinals should be able to get 1 prospect in the top 50-100 for Helsley along with 2 lower level guys. I'd want one of Mick Abel (ideally) or Aidan Miller from the Phillies.

I don't think they will be trading Donovan now, but he'd likely garner two top 100 type of players (with at least one in the top 50).

1. I'm still not convinced Mo deals him until I see it.
2. You shouldn't bet - the return will assuredly be higher than what you're suggesting. (not surprising coming from a guy who characterizes Juan Soto as "injury prone")

Yeah he struggles with just one trade partner. Moving just Helsley is not enough.

Donovan is a solid chip but the Dodgers won't trade their stud catching prospect.
Arenado is more of a dump to the Astros or Cubs without a stud prospect in return.

If YOU were the Yankees ,would you trade your star minor leaguer (that you have 6 controllable years for MLB) for a 2 month rental reliever.
Once the season ends , Helsley is free to sign with anyone and could leave the Yankees.

Think of it from a Cardinal perspective , let's say the Cardinals were in position like the Yankees and they had Helsley , if you were the Cardinals GM would YOU trade JJ Wetherholt for their Helsley for a 2 month rental . No way Jose ! Right ?

Though Arenado playing value isn't high , a team wanting Nado would at leas have him under contract for not only these two months but for both 2026 & 2027 . He is not a 2 month rental .

I'm not sure the Cardinals have any interest in trading Burleson at this time. But if they did I could see a team giving a nice return for him considering his salary/years of control situation.
