Any move that can improve the team for the future.
It will be years before the Cardinals are relevant again.

Exactly. With balanced schedules and 3 wild card spots, in division rivalries have diminished meaning.renostl wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 11:04 amDoes it mean the same in the balanced schedule times?imadangman wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 10:25 amTrading key fan favorite players with more control after this season to in division teams? Might as well just move the team to Nashville at that point.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 10:06 amOr with the Reds, who are only 1 game back of the 3rd WC spot and with starters like Abbott, Burns, Greene (if he came back healthy), Lodolo, etc. could really be set up for a playoff run.RunSup wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 09:54 am The Cardinals should be open to trading their pending free agents to anybody, including the Cubs and the Brewers. That means all 3 relievers with contracts ending.
Cutting off 2 teams out of the market for these players just because they are in the division is silly.
This seems completely obvious. But just had to get that off my chest.
Reds could use 2B/3B, and 1B help. Would Contreras waive his NTC? Or Donovan help?
That and the attention span of cats.
Many people will need to be reminded a player
was once in the organization.
If you're division rival want to give you good prospects for expiring contracts, just take it.
If they want to overwhelm you for players under longer control, you listen closely and get the best deal if you want to make it.

Haha....you just wish you had some guys like Albert, Yadi, and Waino.45s wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 10:42 amI want to be respectful ……but this “fan favorite “ silliness is one of the reasons the club is in the sorry state it is…RunSup wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 10:40 am+1. After TLR left - BDW and Mo wanted managers on the cheap and puppetsrockondlouie wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 11:50 amRE:RunSup wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 10:13 amAgreed on the Reds being right there in the wild card hunt and potential trade partners.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 10:06 amOr with the Reds, who are only 1 game back of the 3rd WC spot and with starters like Abbott, Burns, Greene (if he came back healthy), Lodolo, etc. could really be set up for a playoff run.RunSup wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 09:54 am The Cardinals should be open to trading their pending free agents to anybody, including the Cubs and the Brewers. I am too used to leaving them out. They are changing the equation.

(Nice job Dewitt you idiot, he begged for this job after TLR left and you passed letting Mo hire three stooges)
You see where that got them
Re: Open to trade ... within the NL Central division
Terry Francona was a physical and emotional wreck when he interviewed for the Cardinals job. He didn’t take the Indians job until 2013. NOBODY hired in 2012. If they had, he might be dead.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 22:46 pm

Sure hope C. Bloom hires his own Manager and dumps the last of Mo's three stooges.
