But it’s not accurate.
The extent of destruction under Mo is deep and will take years to hopefully correct. If it’s corrected…..perhaps BDW was giving the marching orders but in either case the last 10 yrs has:
Left the team with no current internal SP
No Outfield
Hole at Catcher
Last place finish
First round playoff knockouts
FA who become old and worthless while still under contract
Years waiting for supposed “prospects” to bloom and never do
How anyone can look at MO’s leadership during that time and the state this team has been for years and somehow rationalize as successful is lunacy

I guess, Goldfan, because he was also part of the very successful years in the cardinals history. In various capacities. Sure it was some time ago, but don’t be naive to think he didn’t have at least a little to do with those successes.

And if he left in 2015 you’d be correct and we’d bestow all the wonderful accolades upon him…..to dismiss or forget the last decade is malfeasance

It's a combination a "Mo fatigue" couple w/his SMUG ATTITUDE that turns people off.

BDWJr is the one who caused all this as I started to point out years ago when I started multiple threads stating:

"BILL DEWITT, Jr is the REAL PROBLEM"

Bill knew good & well that Mo's approach had become stale and that he needed to overhaul the entire front office.

Yet he failed to act, content to draw that 3+M as the $$$$$$$$$$$ kept rolling in.

Had he fired Mo years ago and brought in fresh blood like he has now in C. Bloom, then Mo might have escaped the dislike most cardinals fans have for him.

So blame Mo for the smugness, but blame Dewitt for failing to act sooner.

The people that defend MO cannot honestly call themselves Cards fans bec fans can actually see what has happened over time. I 100% agree that the Dewitts are the problem at the present time, way more than MO but MO road the coattails of Jocketty for so long he wouldn't be able to identify his own underwear. You cannot name one coach or manager that was worth a [shirt] under MO's tenure (post TLR or Dunc). The guy is a condescending jerk and a poor evaluator of talent or expertise. He plays the "loyalty" card, getting former Cards player or coaches to get acceptance from fans, but he doesn't give 2 [censored] for the fans. This is where I place 100% blame on DeWitt. They know as long as idiots keep buying tickets MO is worth his ignorance weight in gold.
