Glad to see Clint Hurdle back in the game
He needed time off to recover from a drinking problem. I wonder if he would be interested in a mangerial job in St Louis. What he did with the Pirates - doing more with less - is what we need.

I always liked him. Hitting coach for the Rockies now? Guess you have to start somewhere.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 09:17 am He needed time off to recover from a drinking problem. I'm not vouching for him as manager, but that seems like an awfully long time to black ball him for.

I've mentioned him multiple times in the past prior to Oli being hired, he did a good job under tough circumstances in Pittsburg and Denver.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 09:17 am He needed time off to recover from a drinking problem. I think he was recently upgraded to bench coach. He may not want the pressure of managing again but he knows the game.bccardsfan wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 09:21 amI always liked him. Right? The OP implies he had a relapse. Never heard that.An Old Friend wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 09:55 amHe's been sober for 26 years.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 09:27 amNo thank you. Another ex-Cardinal under Whitey. I could get behind him as the manager. He did exceptionally well without a lot of talent in Pittsburgh.
