Far from it. THG is one of the best sources of hockey analysis available to us fans IMHO he is much better then many analysts not named Joe Micheletti.

I enjoy this guy's takes. In this case, I would disagree with one area. The depth at D doesn't seem to be up to Army's usually standards. Blues are usually 7-8 deep with NHL caliber D going into a season in case of injuires. I'd be surprised if an additional D man isn't added unless they feel Lindstein is close.

He's got more nuances to the Blues down than usual. Dvorsky emerging on the wing. Snuggerud's trajectory. Suter's possible impact. Mailloux' profile/role. He saw the same thing in Broberg close observers saw. How Fowler played and expectations going forward. It's impressive for a generalist. His thesis is he gains shrewdness through vast intake which forces objectivity and I think he's right. He has the dedication to organize and he is a born white board lover. I got white boards everywhere. This concept that he does, it's exactly the kind of one I would have picked and his route is the one I would have taken. Though I don't have anywhere near that big a thing for jerseys and memorabilia.

Good point about Armstrong's normal offseason positioning of the defense I tend to agree. I don't think they are counting on Lindstein for anything significant this season, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be used in a pinch in limited minutes if injuries really hit. He is poised and has played against and with NHL talent on his top SHL team. But I agree Armstrong is more likely to add a 1yr older free agent as depth at some point.

Do you think the early injury Broberg suffered nagged him when he returned? Do you think he has been restrained when he pairs with Faulk because Faulk is the guy who joins the rush?
The first month of last season, Broberg was All-Star material, imo.

Broberg is big enough, smart enough, and plenty fast enough to cover for mistakes. His plus minus tells that story.
I want to see him display that end-to-end magic he does more fluidly and lethally than any other Dman we have.

That still leaves the Blues with almost all of Krug's LTIR dough.
I wonder if they spend it... what might be possible.

I was going to say essentially the same thing. Just tell him to keep training and stay in shape and when the inevitable injury happens immediately sign him to a contract.
