My take-these are the St. Louis Cardinals....we can do better. I felt that Mike Shildt deserved his time as Cardinals manager, through putting his time in as a minor league manager, coming up in the organization. He had some success with his teams, both at AA and at AAA. Made it to the bigs as a bench coach, and then was in the right spot at the right time, following Matheney's firing. He earned it, but after coming up short in the playoffs, I felt that we could do better.
Then it happened. They dismissed Shildt. I felt that they were going to make the move to bring in a more established manager, someone who knew how to handle October baseball. Nope. Mozaliok brings in a first time big league mananger, to oversee the final year of Pujols and Molina, while trying to somehow make it back to the playoffs. After a season for the ages, history made by Pulols, and Yadi's farewell, we made a quick exit. Haven't been back since.
This team doesn't know what playoff baseball is like, so how can we expect this team to feel that vibe? I believe that this team is suffering from such a bad vibe, that the culture has become stale, starting with ownership, management and Marmol...we can do better.
Make it happen Bloom!

He has allowed the farm system to fall way behind. He has turned fans off with his arrogance. And he's hired managers who weren't ready for the job. Then he puts restraints on them to make it harder to succeed.

Sure, marmol has some serious deficiencies. But how many are Mo induced?
Well said, particularly your very first sentence.

And he has actually squandered hundreds of millions.

Thank you. Unfortunately his squandered spending has led to DeWitt cutting payroll.

Also known as setup to fail.
I don't think Mozeliak intentionally set Marmol up to fail. But I think his desire to control the team has caused the failure.
Nonetheless, he really hasn't given the tools to succeed either. It's hard to grow as a manager when your boss is micromanaging your team. I mean literally telling you who you have to start. The players know they ultimately answer to Mo. I think we all agree Oli was thrown into the deep end of the river and told to swim, but while he is trying to keep his head above water, Mo bark out what direction he needs to swim, how fast, what swimming stroke to use, etc.

Shildt suggested that wouldnt it make more sense to travel by boat down the water. Mo didnt appreciate it.

A few players like Mikolas, if he were staying, would be sad to see Mo leave, but I think for the team it will be a fresh start. I may think my lawyer is a SOB, but if he/she successfully advocates for me, i will overlook arrogance and difficulty in responsiveness. Similarly, if Mo had shown more results and less excuses, fans would overlook his prickly, arrogant style and players would respond better. But, Mo has an arrogance that strips his results and apparently knows how to deal with grandpa Dewitt.
Very well said.

Oli's a good guy for the minor leagues, his strength is in developing young players and definitely not in managing a major league team.

Has to be fired/re-assigned back to Memphis/Springfield at seasons end.
