Why would the Habs not consider that deal? Two guys who are not in NHL yet, and don't necessarily project as top line players, for an already established player who puts up 70 points every year and could put up more if they ever put him with a play-making center...ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 07:37 amDo you have the link to that story? Kyrou is here for the long haul. One of many analyst from MTL stated that Army asked for Hage and reinbacher and they wouldnt trade those.

hage does project to a be top 6 center and reinbacher projects to be a big top four rhd dman. WHo are both close to the nhl. if we got those two for kyrou we would hurt for now but in 2 years our window would be crazy long. So you are saying that Kyrou isnt worth 2 first round picks but dobson is LOL Kyrou is a 37 70 pt scorer 30+ goals in 3 seasons. But he isnt worth two first being signed for 6 more years in his prime. Please explainbud white wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 09:12 amActually, it's the fan boys fabricating the rumors who believe Kyrou is that valuable. Re: This Weeks Jordan Kyrou rumor
I'm of the thought that Mailloux was the target all along because the Blues wanted someone ready for this year. Montreal probably asked for Kyrou, so Army countered with Mailloux AND one of Hage or even Reibacher....and maybe a draft pick. So then the offer that they finally settle on was Bolduc straight up.Nublues69 wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 09:43 amhage does project to a be top 6 center and reinbacher projects to be a big top four rhd dman. I bet something similar to this is how it went down. I would also guess Kyrou was the blues offer to the islanders for Dobson. Which is what put Kyrou’s name out there in trade speculation from other teams in the first place.somni wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 10:45 amI'm of the thought that Mailloux was the target all along because the Blues wanted someone ready for this year. I would make that trade with Toronto landing their top prospect who sounds like he can play this coming season, and also next year's #1 pick. We can keep stockpiling and at some point either Charbonneau or some of these Swedes they drafted the other year should start panning out.

Yeah we can't really know how the conversations started. I'm not sure if Mailloux was the initial target, but it's a good bet that Armstrong wanted Reinbacher in any deal involving Kyrou and that scared the Canadians off of him. They see Reinbacher as a Top Pairing guy. Bolduc and Mailloux was a simpler trade that both sides were more comfortable with.somni wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 10:45 amI'm of the thought that Mailloux was the target all along because the Blues wanted someone ready for this year.
