Re: D Quinton Burns Ready To Take Next Step
I’m surprised nobody has used Barret Jackman as a comp. Mean, physical, defensive minded, leadership qualities. Not saying it’s dead on but the more I read about the kid that’s who immediately pops into mind for me
Re: D Quinton Burns Ready To Take Next Step
There's certainly more similarities with Jax than there is Dunn, but I'm still not a fan of the overall comparison.
For all his reputation as a physical defenseman, Jax wasn't big(6' 203lbs) and really didn't throw the body around all that much(he'd carve a chunk out of you with his stick and then smother you along the boards).
With Burns, Edmundson is the best comp.
Going back a ways, I'd say prime Murray Baron would be a good one. I would say Salvador, except Salvy had a legit canon that he just couldn't find a way to use.

He did use it once vs the Sharks for the OT game winner!kimzey59 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 22:34 pmThere's certainly more similarities with Jax than there is Dunn, but I'm still not a fan of the overall comparison.

I just hope he doesn’t fight like Baron. I dont think I ever saw him even come close to winning one. Wooo boy, poor dood use to get his (bleep) handed to em routinely.kimzey59 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 22:34 pmThere's certainly more similarities with Jax than there is Dunn, but I'm still not a fan of the overall comparison.

That's incredible, not only did you find the whole game, but the clip starts at the face off of the game winner at the end. I don't know how you did that but tip of the cap to you. I loved Ken Wilson. good to hear, thanks for that.zamadoo wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 15:39 pmHe did use it once vs the Sharks for the OT game winner!kimzey59 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 22:34 pmThere's certainly more similarities with Jax than there is Dunn, but I'm still not a fan of the overall comparison.

Re: D Quinton Burns Ready To Take Next Step
I always thought Dunn had all the makings of a hybrid player ala Jimmy Roberts. LW on 4th line and a third paring/7th defenseman.seattleblue wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 11:12 amIt would be difficult to come up with two more opposite players - Dunn to this day is someone you can't have on a real contender because his D is as suspect as ever. Burns is the kind of guy who will be a +3 in a 9-5 loss. Burns' calling card will be shutdown D if he makes it, with a hint of offense. I have used Tucker plenty of times and it's a good starting point to expectations on this player, though Burns seems like more of a sure shot with offensive ceiling. Not a flashy player but someone you need on the roster.

On Youtube, I went to the end where it starts, then clicked 'Share' and then clicked the little box that says "Start at (time)"- glad you enjoyed. I also loved KW and will be watching this game in full either today or tomorrow.TAFKAP wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 18:15 pmThat's incredible, not only did you find the whole game, but the clip starts at the face off of the game winner at the end. Reminds me more of a Kevan Miller type, hopefully with less injuries. I like the Eddy comp, too. Like Eddy, at times Burns gets angry and intense and wants to rip somebody's head off.
Burns would also benefit from the Ryan Suter school of defense like Tucker did this year but unfortunately their paths may not align.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Suter brought in on a PTO and signed after Krug's LTIR kicks inBoomac wrote: ↑20 Jul 2025 09:58 amReminds me more of a Kevan Miller type, hopefully with less injuries. Agree. That's what I'm hoping for.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑20 Jul 2025 10:34 amI wouldn't be surprised to see Suter brought in on a PTO and signed after Krug's LTIR kicks inBoomac wrote: ↑20 Jul 2025 09:58 amReminds me more of a Kevan Miller type, hopefully with less injuries. I was just wondering how you'd incorporate Bleedr into the Coldplay meme. You, sir, do not disappoint!TBone wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 14:41 pmArmy's Mom wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 10:38 amLove it!MikoTython wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 11:27 am Don't forget his great troller take-down memes. He's a 200 ft poster.![]()
