Not so sure nobody wants him . If Cardinals pick up substantial amount of salary (which they would obviously need to ) , there could be suitors.
One team that was NOT on his trade list of contending type teams this past offseason was the Milwaukee Brewers. If Suarez doesn't go there , I would not put it past Brewers to make a play for Nado. They seek an upgrade for their 3rd base spot. Nado would be that .
Problem is would Mo trade Nado within the division ? Rarely does that happen .
One attractive thing for MO is that Milwaukee has a very good farm system. Could be something there that Mo/Bloom may want to get if offered
It doesn't really matter how good the receiving teams' farm system is- we're not drawing from the top end of anyones prospect list if we can trade Arenado at all.

Mo would trade him anywhere, for any return if they took enough money

Looking at playoff-bound teams, the Yankees, Phils, Mets, and Cubs have excelled despite major suckage by their third-basemen. Move Arenado and some bucks for young players, say an arm and an OF. Think of it as buying prospects.

He likely was told some things by the Cards regarding their will to win that simply weren’t true (that has been the speculation). They now want a favor from him. Kick rocks, Moe. I’d jerk their chain for a long time.
Seems counterproductive

Miss an opportunity to get out of stl, just to spite mo?

Maybe. He's not a Rhodes Scholar.

Problems in trading Arenado. 1) He’s not as good as he once was. Defensively, still really good. Offensively, not so much. 2) Money. How much are the Cardinals willing to eat?

Like others have said.
1. He isn’t anyone’s top trade target.
2. He has a NTC and he won’t go just anywhere. I don’t think he would go to Milwaukee. My guess it’s west coast or Bos/NY.

I wonder if they would try to package him with Helsley to get rid of him?

I would reduce his playing time so that younger players could get at bats.

Mozeliak said he had yet to talk with veterans Nolan Arenado, Sonny Gray, Willson Contreras and Miles Mikolas -- all owners of no-trade clauses in their contracts -- about whether they want to remain in St. Louis or seek trades that would drop them into World Series-contending situations.

“I will. I haven’t, but that’s something we will have a good understanding of as we enter that final week [before the Trade Deadline],” Mozeliak said of asking Arenado about his wishes to either stay in St. Louis or seek a trade elsewhere. “Right now, I would envision him being a part of this in the future, but if something were to pop up, I would definitely discuss it with him.” -J. Love how you make a claim and admit it's based on speculation. You are truly laughable

They might stand a better chance this offseason to move him as he only has two years left at
$27M-$5M+$15M.
If the Cards eat $5/$10M plus take less back it might be enough?
Even if Gorman washes out you still have JJ/Donovan for 2B/3B.
I like Arenado and his work ethic but I don’t see teams viewing him as a veteran “leader” which hurts his value.

Dumb decision after dumb decision. I’ve never seen someone ruminate over one player like Moe.

Good Lord trade the players that can be moved who don’t have NtC. Unless the player with the NTC is completely open to it.

Unreal

Yes, of course.
Take the trade.
Or you are permanently the last man on the bench.
Very, very easy to get this done.

Stop. You don’t say that stuff to maybe a future HoF still with an Ace glove.

What you get or give up in Arenado will not be replaced by a hitter with a better average, and certainly no better D.

He will get traded, as a contender who has a great staff but lacks depth nfield defense will see his value to the over arching construction of a team.
