Vince Coleman is a start. Horrible hitter and fielder that had a 12.2 bWAR as a Cardinals player. That set the bar VERY low!Bully4you wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025 14:00 pmI can't think of all that are there undeservingly.
Whom are they?
Anyone think Goldschmidt qualifies for the coveted Red Jacket in St. Louis.

Coleman is the last man to steal 100+ bases, and the only one to do so in three consecutive seasons. WAR doesn’t give SBs much value…. I agree it's a low bar, but I’d rather have him in than Hrabosky or Herr.Catfish4U wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025 14:51 pmVince Coleman is a start. He had two miserable years in St. Louis. Choked in playoffs. What makes him HOF caliber? One MVP?
Re: Anyone think Goldschmidt qualifies for the coveted Red Jacket in St. Louis.
As time moves on the numbers of living Red Jacket keeps declining. To preserve the concept , new members must replace the Whitey Herzogs, Lou Brocks etc . that unfortunately pass on . You don't want to get to a point where you have 4 or 5 living Red Jacket guys.

Does he qualify for a franchise hall of fame that doesn't have a shred of information on who is enshrined on its web site? Sure. They probably could use a new name for a sandwich they want to schlock. The Goldy Grilled Cheese or some such honor like that.

Anyone think he doesn’t?

Goldy was an All Star, Gold Glove winner, and MVP during his tenure in STL. He absolutely should be awarded a Red Jacket.

It’s not nothing but have all MVPs for one year been in HOF? I’m asking. I doubt it.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:03 amdefinitely not good in the playoffs.. but to act like winning an MVP is nothing.. lolz

THE hof? or a teams hof? there's a differenceJatalk wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:22 amIt’s not nothing but have all MVPs for one year been in HOF? I’m asking. I doubt it.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:03 amdefinitely not good in the playoffs.. but to act like winning an MVP is nothing.. lolz
and with Goldy, there's a chance for both

I was referring to both. I realize the St Louis HOF is a more of a popularity contest but putting in baseball HOF? I really question that.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:30 amTHE hof? or a teams hof? there's a differenceJatalk wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:22 amIt’s not nothing but have all MVPs for one year been in HOF?
