Best stints with the Blues would also be an interesting Mt Rushmore question
Pronger
Hully
ROR
Shanny (had his best and 2 of the best blues seasons of all time)
This would be an interesting one because we don't have too many guys who have careered on the national stage. Tarasenko was the closest guy in recent years and even he never really put up the monster stats, was just consistent.

Any list without a Plager is wrong and proves that the writer is looking only at points. Bobby is our George Washington, he created the Blues brand.
Sutter and Plager epitomize what the Blue Note is all about. The single most important trade (not necessarily the best) in Blues history was the trade that brought Berenson and Barclay Plager to the Blues. Along with Al Arbor, Glen Hall, and Jacques Plante, they became the backbone of those 3 Stanley Cup finalists. Without those creating the excitement and buzz and love for the Blues, the team is probably not here. They don’t survive the fall of the Solomons, the mismanagement and abandonment of Ralston-Purina and the ownership of Harry Ornest(or Dave Checketts). Even more so than Bobby, Barclay became the heart and soul of the St. Louis Blues’ franchise. He is the very personification of Bleed Blue.
Guys like Unger, Bobby Plager, Mike Liut, Al McInnis, and Chris Pronger all deserve consideration, to be sure. But, Hull, Federko, Sutter, and Plager defined what it means to be a St. Louis Blue and they go straight to the heart and soul of what it means to be a St. Louis Blues fan.
It’s really difficult to not have a place for Pronger but he warrants it as well.
Pronger deserves to be on there, and by all accounts should be our number 1 player of all time followed by Hull. Both were casualties of a bad coach and then a league wide lockout. If Brett Hull doesn't encounter his time with Mike Keenan, I'm curious if the end to that contract negotiation goes better. I know it wasn't Keenan at the end, but he poisoned the well.
Pronger is the best single talent to ever lace it up for the Blues. Glad they have found a role for him even tho he's not super polished at it. It brings gravitas to the org on the national stage.

Brett Hull
Bernie Federko
Brian Sutter
Barclay Plager
replace sutter with unger and I'd agree
I have to disagree. I mean I love Unger, he was the first player as a kid who I identified and understood was an elite scorer. Brian Sutter to me is like what the hockey must have been like just before my time. Sutter was the most skilled true Blue if that makes sense. The will that Brian Sutter had was the will that the St. Louis Blues had.
I’ve settled on 5 and not quite sure how to get it down to four, if that’s the Mt Rushmore of Blues history number.
Barclays Plager
Brett Hull
Bernie Federko
Brian Sutter
Chris Pronger
Every one of these guys were instrumental in the Blues past. Binnington is still outside to me but he still has some Blues career to go. There isn’t a scenario where Brian Sutter doesn’t belong. He was the heart and soul of the Blues for years. I wish he wanted to be a part of the Blues alumni and Blues future but has decided that he would rather stay home on his farm. That doesn’t take away what he meant to Blues history.
If I had to eliminate one, it would be Pronger but he was the leader of that Blues era. Binnington is the leader of this era but who gets left off. Time will tell.

I will never view Sutter the same after he coached the Blackhawks.
Art Shell should never have coached the Chiefs
Brett Favre should never have played for the Vikings
Brian Sutter should never have coached the Blackhawks
