Oli- “ yeah. Didn’t work. We intentionally missed the Cubs by giving starts in games against Atlanta Nats Rats and DBACKS. We go 3-2 as a team and he goes 2-2 personally.”

Just pickin of course.

More concerning to me it the team was in no position to compete on that field coming out of the break.
Clear breakdown in coaching.
Two lifeless looking games in a row. Definately on the coaching staff..
Walker and Scott badly misplayed balls in the outfield and turned 2 doubles into triples.
Not recorded as errors, but blunders none the less.
Clearly, they had not done the prep required to understand and anticipate the angles and caroms unique to that ballpark.
Additionally, Scott continues to take bad routes which allows hits that should be cut off to instead go all the way to the wall.
And, you may have noticed Walker completely checked out in game 1 of the series and forgot to back up 1B.
Just awful coaching.
But it gets even worse.
The D' Backs have blown 30 leads this year because the bullpen in one of the worst 3 in MLB.
And yet in the lest 2 games STL has allowed starters to complete 6 or 7 innings with extremely low pitch counts - a huge gift to AZ.
Not understanding the critical need to work pitches and elevate the D' Back starters pitch counts in the first 5 innings of each contest, thereby giving STL hitters a chance to attack the BP, shows gross negligence on the part of The Marmot - who actually instructed STL hitters to swing early in pitch counts.
Bad coaching shows up time after time after time with this team.
I've also noticed in many games this year Scott taking bad routes to balls. I know he gets to some that most CF's won't but from what I've seen so far, he seems over rated. No bat.. As for Walker, he appears air headed from time to time. Does he lack focus or is it just low baseball I.Q? While playing teams with bad bullpens,it's so important to take pitches and work the counts on the starters to get to their pen early. Gotta get to that BP no later than the 6th inning.

Okay crazy but............

Could they be trying to pizzzzzzzzz Gray off so he'll waive his NTC?
maybe gray wanted to stay out there to try to help save the bullpen
Could be M&S

But no need for bullpen saving anymore coming out of the allstar break when all are fresh.
They are going to Colorado where the starters will get pounded…

They will need the bullpen

The Gray game was over…..no need to burn the pen in a lost cause.

If he did it would be some illogical nonsense. Oli is Mo's pud.

Leave the Ace in to get rocked and rest the already rested bullpen. Alrighty then.
