I fell down the Google rabbit hole after this was announced. Lots of stuff about other teams that have gone to this. Nothing specific dollar amount wise, just that it was significant. I just recall a Stillman interview after the salary cap announcement when he was asked about will the Blues continue to be a cap team. I believe his response was that the Blues were looking at all avenues to remain competitive. I don't think this will be the last.rezero wrote: ↑16 Jul 2025 05:41 amthat is where I am at as it needs to be more than just money.TAFKAP wrote: ↑15 Jul 2025 18:33 pmHere's the thing, I feel for those that hate losing JK, especially those that despise Kerber. We're a midmarket team that has fans used to seeing it's team spend to the cap. Cap is going to 113.5 million in 2027. This is a business, and I'm sure JK makes real dollars, so did Pang. Joey, Jamie, Kerber are all under contract. JK's was up so that's the direction. Two less people (minimum) travelling and you lose an entire production staff. I'd imagine the savings are huge.
I still say this is a lot of pearl clutching over not much

Absolutely. Odds are this is just the beginning. Also, we have no idea JK's feeling on all of this. He's said the right things, but maybe he wants to be home more, maybe his wife is having further issues, maybe he wants to spend more time with his kids and grandchildren. For all any of us know he is completely fine with this, he'll look for a national job where he might work 1 or 2 days a week, including Blues home games, and just settle into a semi-retirement. Not all of us want to work until we are 90.TAFKAP wrote: ↑16 Jul 2025 07:29 amI fell down the Google rabbit hole after this was announced. Lots of stuff about other teams that have gone to this.
